I think you may be referring to the colonize vs capture/loot difference.

Still sticking to Age I, unless facebook is out of evony and no colonizing. Then il think about it.
Whine whine whine. Again, initial combat is exactly the same. You just have a 2nd battle after 8 hours, you don't get stocked recources, but 10% of production, you cannot capture their cities.
How can you honestly post that there's no combat or attacking? Only the process after the attackers wins the fight is different.
I wasn't a big fan of cav spamming either, I certainly won't miss it.
Actually, battles got WAY bigger. Have you not seen uprising/suppression fights where millions and millions of troops come together in a huge (essentially valley setting) battle?
So in addition to the normal city attack, with wall defenses, they have now added the ability of alliances fighting eachother without the wall defenses. Weren't you guys also whining that the defender got such a huge advantage? Here's your chance to fight without wall defenses.
Please elaborate what you mean by "no more attacking"? If you look at the facts, it's actually more combat, only less spamming.
I think you just mean no more NPCing noob cities (or sometimes capping good cities) and making them quit the game, making you feel like you own a certain area. Well there's Historical Cities now to replace that.
8 hour wait only allows the people who have a life to enjoy the game. People complain that they have to be online 24/7 to compete, they actually get 8 hours now to come online before serious consequences, but apparently they do not want that? I can only think those are the players who don't WANT to get a life, and enjoy the fact that weeks/months of building/farming can get destroyed/looted within approx 70-80 minutes.

I'm sorry, but i hate you. I dont think heros should be capped. I LOVE insanely high attack heros.... gives me a goal to beat. Why let casual players get top 10 attack heros when the other players are better? Just because you arent as good as the other players doesnt mean you should be on the same lvl as their heros, and the main thing with your post.... instant troops... i LOVE instant troops. It just proves how good you are, how much time you have spent in upgrading your heros, and that you want to be the best. I have said it before. I will say it again. I HATE AGE 2.Heroes cap
No more need for endless LVL5/LVL10 farming, because heroes are capped. No more insane high attack heroes, fair chance for casual players to get top10 attack hero. Add free anabasis on top of that, and getting a top10 attack hero is easier/more fair than ever. No more instant troops, which is madness of course.

-A goal to beat. There's lots of other goals in AgeII, that are WAY more fun.
-Like I stated, I've been a top player on 2 Age I servers, Prinzessin both, never lost a city (I had no life), destroyed countless enemy cities. Single handedly destroyed entire alliances lol. Believe me, I'm an Age I veteran.
-You enjoy endless LVL10 farming to get top10 hero? You like coiners to buy top10 heroes with insane amounts of On Wars? I don't. The top attack hero playing field has been leveled a bit. No-lifers and coiners don't automatically get the best heroes in the game anymore. And you somehow believe that's a bad thing?
