Submitted bug report about Commission Quests around the same time.
June 23 Evony fixed the Commission Quest bugs. See General Discussion Forum.

Fixed: A problem was preventing commission quests from being completed. This has been corrected.

Now maybe people can benefit form this guide now that the bugs were fixed. So I don't think it is pointless.
