    Default Option to attack on age II servers and other changes ?

    What I wish to know is when will you be able to have the option to attack on age II servers ? I really dont like the idea of only being able to colonize other player cities. I strongly believe if the option to attack is added that there will be a big increase in players on age II servers. And this increase would surpass age I servers. The servers also need to reset about every 3 months. By resetting servers helps alot of people from becoming bored and leaving their server for a fresh start on a new server and / or by quitting altogether. By not resetting servers all you end up with is alot of servers with just a small population on each one. Why have over 100 servers with just a very small population on each one ? Now that does not make sense to me at all.

    Reseting is an option but Evony handles this differently. Instead of resetting they merge two older servers giving new life to both.

    There are many "hints" that some form of attack option will eventually be instituted into age II. Nothing official but by reading certain posts by Evony staff you can see they are at least looking into options. For example they have even requested opinions on one possible solution in the "on topic" section of forums.

    I have an idea that will solve everything...
    1. Create a game called Age I.
    2. Create a game called Age II.

    Each will have different features.

    Then, change Age II to make it more like Age I. That way, people who are unhappy with Age II can play Age II in a similar way to Age I. But do not change Age I to be more like Age II.
    Wait, why did they make a Age I and a Age II again? Oh yeah, because people who didn't like Age I could play Age II. People, let's stop the madness.

    It is all a farce. They sit there and make you think they are going to do something. This keeps you around longer in attempt to get you to spend more money while you sit and hope that something might be fixed. From past experience, have they ever given any kind of reason to make you believe that they are actually going to do something?

    Yeah! Remember that time they kept saying "stick around, age 2 is coming"? But then it never did? They lied to us for months, pretending there was going to be an age 2, just to get us to spend more money before quitting.

    I will never play Age1 again so long as the food issue is unchanged.

    Sorry, I don't have thousands of hours to devote to the game like some of you nerds.

    Use some of the Age2 changes and incorporate them into an Age1 game and I'd be sold. Until then, I have no problem dumbing down for Age2 as it stands now. I can still have a life.

    I say seperate the two games so that age 1 can get some new blood into it.

    Believe it or not I agree with you. (but not your tone and sarcasm)

    I have been pressing for an attack button since I started Evony age II.

    HOWEVER, putting a similar attack button as age I is going backwards not forwards.

    There are countless ways to handle attacks.

    Age I way to handle them is WAY WAY old and too simplified...not to mention very unrealistic. It takes way too much online time to be ever enjoyable for the mass market. It also is boring to people who enjoy real strategies and competitive PVP. The competition PVP is farm the most and be online the most. Basically have no other life. Age I while fun enough...is one of many online games that primarily give the advantage to the players online the most since by far the way to win is constantly raid gazzillions of NPCS..get a huge army..then attack an offline opponent. Been there done that in a many different systems.

    There is a way to actually advance Age II instead of going backwards into age I.

    So in conclusion I agree...going backwards and getting an attack and conquer mechanic like Age I wouldn't be a good idea. If you like that sort of thing just play Age I.

    Lets get something for age II so we can strategise and handle attacks in a new and cutting edge way.

    Colonising was brilliant..please come up with something else brilliant for the "attack" button.

    excellent post reddbaron. Just getting the Age I attack button to Age II is not an option, but it would indeed be nice to have some improvements/additions to the current colonization system.

    Exactly, Age I is for people who can be online constantly. It is not a game for normal people with normal lives. Heck, most people watch 2-3 hours of Television per day. Well, if all you had was 2-3 hrs per day to play Age 1... you are out of luck. Also, yes, the who way of Age 1 strategy was very very simple compared to Age 2. Age 2 is far more complex and allows the player to play the game on their own time and in a number of different ways and utilize a number of sophisticated strategies, many of which have not even been thought of yet as Age 2 is still very new... not to mention all of the Strategms.

    So long as they allow players in Age 2 a way to keep all of the work and time they have invested into the game, I agree. Because in Age 2, it will take some players an entire year to build up where they want to be.
    For example, Build up all 10 cities, cap some Historical Heros, level them up, cap some level 12's, 14's and possible a 16. Then hit Atlantis.

    Not everyone has the same amount of time to put into the game. Some are single players with plenty of time, some are married with kids and love to game but only have 2 hrs per day to devote to it. Some are rich and can dump $2,000 into the game to help them. But here is the point, the playing field and opportunities need to be as balanced as possible. Yes, people who pay should have an advantage. But they should NOT be able to knock down 6 months of a players hard preparation for a large target. The poor dad with 2 kids who loves Evony but only has 2 hrs per day to play will be highly upset when he gets online one day to find that his 6 months of preparation and building have been destroyed by some kid with a credit card who built up for 8 hrs a day over 2 weeks.

    Age 2 is really a long term game. And if Evony brings in a feature that allows players who pay or stay online all day to be able to destroy months of hard work of other players who are preparing more slowly because they have less time to devote to the game,... well then... that would really turn alot of normal players off and would be a huge mistake in my opinion.
