    Just to let you know, the Heroic Companions to reduce upkeep of troops is no longer stacking. Neither is the one for increasing your troops' moving speed & Hitpoints. I had 11 hrs & some mins left when I added 4 HC's. It changed my time to only 23 hrs & 59 mins. This is happening on multiple servers.

    * Fixed: Occasionally some hero quests would not be able to be completed even after acquiring the hero. This has been corrected.
    Sorry to say, but this one has NOT actually been fixed.
    I have five heroes in my possession (after accepting the tasks) but the quest window isn't recognizing that the quest is completed. The "complete" button remains grayed out.

    I tried declining the quest, accepting it a second time, then making sure i was in the town where the hero resides. Still no luck. And yes the hero was idle at the time.

    This is really becoming annoying, as I have five quests which the game wont allow me to get credit for having completed.

    Help?

    EDIT: Ok, I think I found the secret formula. Not only do you need to be in the town where the hero is located, but you also must have an INN in that town. And it's not necessary to decline and re-accept the quest, just accept it a second time without declining and it works.

    nope the hero bug is not fixed.
    Hero quests are still not "highlighting" the button to complete quest.
    The hero I conquered that vanished - still not fix.

    grrrhhh why can you guys not actually respond to individual bug complaints..its very bad.

    Thank you for fixing hero capture quest bug which has annoyed me for about a month. Finally I was able to receive amulets for the 14 heroes I have captured.

    I have a further suggestion, however, for improving the game experience. As most players must have realized by now, it is incredibly difficult to win anything of worth such as hero materials, game coins, armor scripts, or holy water by spinning the "wheel of misfortune". Since I have captured lots of heroes, I need a lot of holy water to redistribute their stats and also to find out their base stats to satisfy my curiosity. The only way I know how to obtain holy water besides buying them or winning from wheel which never seems to happen, is by clicking on a facebook quest links of "Artifact Discovery". I have been imploring my facebook friends and my evony allies to post these Artifact links on their wall so I can click on them and get holy waters. But after a while most of them get tired or become annoyed with facebook quest pop-ups and they just turn em off. So then it becomes really difficult to get any more holy water from others' quest links.

    My suggestion is that you guys would make the reward from quest links available not only to those who are friend with the one who post the links but also to the one who post them. From what I see, it is awkward that the one who has "found the artifact, treasure, resources, or some troops" should not be able to benefit from his own finding while others are able to "share" from his quest. So can you guys plz fix the facebook quest so that the one who posts the quest also can receive the reward by clicking his own links?

    After all, the quest pop up says "you have discovered treasure or artifact" but in reality you don't get anything but only your "friends" can reap the reward. So plz fix this so I can gather what little holy water I can amass by at least clicking my own link. Thanks.

    BUG:even if my hero equip on one click change, the stats still does not increase.

    Default Problem with battle mechanic & calculation

    I have been playing evony II for about 3 months now. One thing that has annoyed me the most is the unit balance in the game. Besides overpowered archers in this game which I have become quited used to by now, the warriors are also too powerful for their costs or other melee units too weak for their costs.

    For example, I usually find in real battles that warriors beat swordsmen if warriors outnumber swords by about 2:1. It also shows in battle calculation in rally point exercise though I know the rally point calculation is not accurate. But my point is this. Swordsmen cost far more resources and time to build but each of them are only capable of killing 2 warriors at max. This does not make much sense to me if you compare their unit stats.

    Swordsmen have far higher stats in everything than warriors; 350 hps vs 200 hps, 100 attack vs 50 attack, and 250 defense vs 50 defense. As you can see swordsmen's defense rating is 5 TIMES HIGHER than warriors. This should mean that it should be pretty tough for warriors to kill swordsmen who are supposed to be far better armed and skilled than mere warriors (the name should actually be changed to militia in my opinion). But in actual battles, if warriors outnumber swords by little more than 2 to 1, warriors will kill all of swordsmen. Although this is just a game which can not accurately reflect what usually happened in real battles, attempts should be made to assess each unit strength as close as possible with the reality of actual wars of old. Think about history of battles and try to imagine that 10000 of highly trained and well armored swordsmen destroyed by 20000 of poorly trained militia with no armor. Would something like that have been possible in usual circumstances of actual war except for some exceptional factors such as a brilliant commander on warriors' side or maybe some terrain advantages? It is said that each ordinary Roman soldiers were able to fend off at least 5 rabbles. In normal engagement, a professional swordsman should be able to kill about 4 or 5 of untrained and unarmored militiamen. The effect should even be greater in large battles since militiamen are more likely to rout and break their ranks than professional soldiers. The game designer should consider these things when making strategy game like this instead of just blindly punching in simple formulas.

    But even that simple formula does not seem to work in a fixed pattern. Here is the example. If I input 10 swordsmen vs 20 warriors in rally point exercise, I get 5 swordsmen dead with all 20 warriors dead as well. But if you input 10000 swords vs 20000 warriors, you get 7460 swords dead with all 20000 warriors dead. The casualty rate of swordsmen increased from 50% to near 75%. I tried other numbers such as 200 vs 400, 2000 vs 4000, 50k vs 100k, and other large number. The result is all same with about 75% casualty on swordsmen. This is something I can't understand. Why is it that more percentage of swordsmen should die in larger scale battles compared to tiny scale battle? The result should be the opposite if not the same. This tells me that the battle calculation result is inconsistent with the comparative unit strength.

    This is just one aspect of game but there are lots of unit balance issues that need to be fixed to make evony more strategic game. The description of swordsmen says they are "very effective" against archers. But everyone knows that is not true. You need at least twice number of swordsmen to beat archers. With their large shield and high armor rating, swordsmen should be more resistant to archer fires than what is now. Right now as things appear, the game seems to be about who can mass greater number of archers which seems quite ridiculous.
