Okay, well 50% is not exactly an acceptable number when cents (may be cash, may not be) are on the line.

I did 10 enquiries so far during my time on NA17. 2 of them were user error (oblivious to case-sensitivity), 5 succeeded using proper capitalization/etc., and 3 were completely wrong. Case was right, name was right (as it appears in the Inn), and it was not found properly using enquire. The heroes were in a player city even though it did not show them in Statistics. Heresay also said Barb City (not that hearsay matters, but just another concern). If this is server lag (meaning it was recently captured), then that is considered a bug to me and needs to be addressed. If enquiring is going to cost cents, then make it as accurate as possible (and a priority, at that).

You are wrong there. When I tried to get the hero I paid for he was not in the NPC that it said it was. I made a second attempt and the same thing happened. I came back to the forums to see what I had done wrong and found out that others had experienced the same problem I had. There was no fault on the players part. Once again another bug. On my third attempt to find a hero I got the location and he was in another players city. Actually he was the #2 player on the server so there was no way I was going to take that from him. So here I am now with no more cents and no possibility of getting a hero unless I spend more money and that won't even guarantee I will get one.

Personally, I find the HH system to be another in a long list of bad designs for Age 2. I find it totally wrong that on the first day the server opens that these heroes can be bought and hoarded up by the player who spends the most money.

Seems to me that historical heroes should be located in the historical cities. If you capture one of the cities then you get the hero. To me that would be a much more balanced way to approach this.

-It is possible that the H-hero was in the NPC you attacked, but that the H-hero had lower attack than the normal hero. This happens a lot on POL/INT heroes. This is not a bug, but a feature. You will have the normal hero in the report, while the H-hero is 'hidden' in the NPC, but you're still able to capture the H-hero.
-Did you check Hero statistics before paying the 10c? Do you know the names are case sensitive?

I would like to quote myself...

Which still doesn't address that a 50% rate (obviously +/-) is unacceptable when dealing with cents. Also, he said he visited the forums to see what he was doing wrong. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's "finding out how everything works exactly."

Sorry if you disagree, but it's true.

No. I have captured 13 historic heros myself, so I know the process. About half of them are bugged.

By Bugged, I mean (June 26th):

    1) I check the statistics to make sure hero isn't taken.
    2) I look at the hero info to make sure it says "Barbarian's City"
    3) I pay 10c for the location. Low and behold, it IS a barbarian city.
    4) I verify that I have free FH slots, and I attack the Barb city. The hero is not inside (not listed on the Battle report).
    5) I wait and check every day after maintenance, to make sure the hero wasn't captured by another player.

I currently have 2 or 3 portraits where this is currently the case, and has been for days. Bug reports I create are never answered, they are just deleted. There are other portraits I have, where the hero was finally taken by another player. For some reason they could attack the barb city (the same one I tried to attack) and get the hero. I know this for sure, because 2 of them were in my alliance!

This is *after* a host of other HH bugs were fixed. Like, the "name too long" bug ... I lost 3 heros (30cents) to that one, it was awesome.
