Uh... Do more research please. Forced PvP games have existed since the dawn of MMOs. In UO, if you want to go to the best areas with the best treasures and the best skill gains, you have to go to the alternative world where it's all PvP. In Travian, it's worse than here, and that game has been thriving for years. There, not only can your towns be conquered, but destroyed. If you really think forced PvP is a niche then your experience in the net can't be more than a year or two.

I do admit the game goes rather quickly. Too few towns, too few things to build. I always wanted a version of Travian that didn't reset servers after a time, but that's because you can go to 100 towns, and there's a lot more to be built there. However it's about my only complaint with the game mechanics themselves. I'm not a fan of UMGE, the bugs and technical issues, or their lack of customer support, but the game itself plays fine.

If you want the best stuf, you need to leave the sanctuary of safety and go to the PvP arena. That's not forced PvP. That's PvP area's. Every game has PvP zones. Forced PvP is when the game is a PvP zone, like here. Travian? Never heard of it. Neither have most of the people here I suspect. Niche?

People forget that this game is still quite new.

People quitting haven't even waited for that second age thing. Who knows what will happen when it turns up.

    Kempion,

I have a very useful tool for you

Just click on the name and go into the poster's profile > User List > Add to Ignore List, and presto no more having to read that person's post!

Because I know some posters are so full of hot air, and they must feed on your irritation to survive. Ignoring them completely is the best thing ever.

I keep hearing the terms "advanced players" and "veterans" and I have to laugh. Farming npc cities and clicking up a que of units is NOT advanced. I have been playing on my server since 2 days after it went live. I honestly dont think the endless growth of armies is a good thing. Noone can catch up. If you really want to be an advanced player, learn diplomacy other than "Join or ally us or die." A good example is Dreadfist on server 5. He builds a huge army that he can zerg on someone with absolutely no strat or thought out tactics. He has 4 times the prestige of the person but satisfies his RL need to feel uber. These people are not "advanced players." I dont think the game was designed for that sort of play. It was designed for diplomacy, making alliances, and working together. Otherwise it would be Age of Empires. Thanks devs for fixxing the issue. As soon as all the whiners with no skill leave, the game should improve considerably.

And to those quitting, can i have your stuff?

How is the ability to kill anyone in sight and strength beyond measure NOT an advanced player? He recognized the gameplay elements and leveraged them to his advantage. I think you need to look up the word advanced.

Are you SURE? According to some fanbois you must be lying and bluffing. Or you don't actually exist and this is just a dream at the moment.

This is the, what, 5th change that came in and just totally changed the way the game needs to be played? I am sick of it.

Here is the thing, refinements are good and changes are ok if we have warning they are coming and they don't make a clear distinction between BEFORE and AFTER. I was getting darn close to 1 billion food in one of my cities on world 3, which would last quite a while after this change, so you create two power classes with this, and every other change. Big changes should happen AS NEW SERVERS OPEN. Leave a server in place with the rules that were in place when the server launched, that way people can play the game they expect to play when logging in to that server. Each new server can play under whatever rules are nessasary.

Constantly having to adapt your game plan is not fun, and all these changes to medals, scout attacks, barbarian raids, etc. are not fun. Count me out, I'm gone forever as of this post.
