I know for a fact that star does not affect troop training time. Upgrading just 1 piece of gear by 1 level reduces abt 1-2 sec off Mechanics training time, even though the upgrading reduce 1 star level (from 8 star to 7 star).

Thanks for doing all this work! You rock.
I can't even view the spreadsheet on googledocs. Can you change the permisisons so that everyone can look at it, and everyone can Save As, but no one can edit?
Granted, I could create my own spreadsheet with your formulas, but I would rather use your sheet![]()
This doesn't include wall defences right?
well you can put ATs in the calculator but they're not very accurate. Is there a damage penalty against towers? there's nothing mentioned in his notes and they seem much harder to kill in Age2.
O, call me retarded, but i can't for the life of me figure out how to use this calculator. I don't normally find myself in this spot, but here I am.
Can anyone explain to me where to get base defense and such along with the percentages we are supposed to fill in?
Also, where do I put the defending troop numbers?
Thanks
base defence is the base defence of each troop. IE, swords have 250, archers 50, ect. the percentages are as folows (assuming maxed techs) for IW and MT, put in a 50, and for hero attack and int, just put in each number. And you never put in the actual number of defending troops. All do you is find how much damage your troops do, and how much each defending troop can survive. When you devide those numebrs, it gives you total losses.
A couple of tips for everyone thinking this calcultor is the be-all end-all;
1. This only shows the kill rates in one round hitting at 100% effectiveness. If you really want to figure out what happens in battle, map it out. This will help you with the battle calculations, but has nothing about range and speed in it.
2. If you are a new player, I'd HIGHLY advise looking at Hellfire and Darkbrady's guide about combat mechanics. This will help you understand the calculator.
3. The percentage part of the calculator is meant for Leadership. I'd just keep this at 100% unless you know your hero is attacking with low leadership(lower than the key which is for every 1 point of leadership, 1 is effectively lead).
ok, now i follow a bit better. Thanks Sephiroth.
still trying to figure out the basics i guess. Are there any calculators that can help get close to actual battle mechanics on npc valleys and cities? evocalc is not really close to the results i get no matter what i put in.
Thanks again for clarifications.
