I don't know what happen over 8 stars. From some reports (not mine) if 0 stars then life 40% become negative.
I'm sure that many will not see the H/2.
Excalibur not add so much like war horn do.

As for the Corselet and Horn, they should work fine in the calculators, I've been too lazy to add the Buxom buff, I usually lose track of how many I have up anyway - I just add it myself in an invisible square by typing 1.41, 1.42, 1.43 etc. for the life modifier.
Keep up the good work brother, I've got all the time in the world for those who seek their own proof.

PS. xAmnesiax pointed out to me that the 40% life buff no longer applies on NA1 (it did for a time). It's still going strong on NA3 & NA21, probably why your leadership limit differs too.
From My Experiences with the 40% Base Life, its all got to do with star level, I'm honestly not sure if its there in pvp combat as I have not really tested, however its quite obviously there in PVE Combat, there is a obviously bonus that matters on your stars being over certain thresholds, the life bonus might be percentage based depending on how your stars are, but its quite obvious that when you don't have a your stars close to or on the same level your units have less life, this can easily seen by farming Lv10 Npcs were you receive more losses are failing stars, its very easy to see that once you get it back up its a lot better, the rise in life can be seen from star sets 9,10,11,12 quite easily, these are also very noticeable in trade-fire waves on historic cities, doing several hc16s now using only 250 and 375k trade fires we have seen the results vary due to mis matched or failed stars, yet of the attack has been around the same due to some stars fail and others not.

But like i said I've only noticed this in PVE combat as I get a lot more comparable results, but its quite obvious that there is a life bonus tied to stars.

If you mess around with some slightly higher stars you might notice a difference brittles

Now I see it, it's working like scout battles - the outnumbered hero is penalized. Good job man, we should get together on a server and kick seven shades of shlt outta each other until we crack this

My star levels are all 6-7, what would I have to do for things to go awry? Raise one item to a higher star threshold or raise all but one item? Is item level relevant to the bonus?

Those are all good questions, Not really sure if Item Level Plays a Part, I've Had LV10 Items for quite some time so maybe so. But maybe dropping one to 0 you would see a chance, yet raising everything to like lv8 or 9 you might see a increase in life.

Finally had a chance to test the star's modifier. Tried to be cheap and just unequip my hero - still 140%, then I demolished the workshop - still 140% (even with no workshop you still gain some benefit from stars when gear is equipped).
Started on a new server - first roll of the amulet wins a battalion (pike, swords, archers), so I hit level 1-3 valleys - result 100% health, in other words no bonus.
I then went back to my original server to test the leadership element and purposely failed star rolls until one item was at 2 stars (the other items between 6 & 8 stars) - result 100% health and +100 in the leadership equation.

    Very good work un3x.

Wow, so ONE item at two stars negates a 40% life bonus AND 50-point leadership bonus that all stars at 9+ would otherwise provide? This reverse engineering is a trip, indeed!

I have my hero gear at 9 stars except two pieces at 8. I'd be happy to run a test, using those numbers, if someone can offer a scenario for me to try out. Testing this might show if 8 stars is good enough for +140% and +150, when paired with 9 stars.

My version of the calc isn't set up with the latest leadership formula, so I would just have to post a report for someone to evaluate.

New sheet added to calculate minimum layer size. Usual deal; duplicate sheet, edit it then delete it. Calculator is based on 140% life modifier, once there's confirmation of the full range of star-set modifiers I'll add an input option. Until then edit cell H20 if you need to change it.
When inputting Base Attack bear the range in mind e.g. when defending archers target a scout layer they will always use base attack of 60; the scout layer won't be moving so they'll always be beyond 50% range, whereas a cavalry layer will most likely charge into the archers' 100% damage zone in the first round - so input 120 base attack if this is the case.

Edit: evonyurl is showing coordinates again, just as well me and my 4 account-sitters and 6 farm-bots never sleep...
