I'm sure the scots took over at one point...I could be wrong.

You went to Frnace by yourself when you were 10? How did you manage that?!

England like most countries has its splendours and not so splendorous places.
I've only been to London once myself, it was nice. I love the Southern accent, [i'm from the north-west]
And i'm sure Iowa to me will be fantastic, I plan to visit as many of the states as I can once i've moved to Milwaukee

I'd definitely go with the USA. Aside from a couple battles in the War of 1812 and some border action in the Mexican-American war, there has been no fighting on American soil, and no conquering at all.

Zen, are you from the US? i think we may still be on if we took over a foreign country, but I may be wrong.

I went to Paris by myself and it was on of the best things in my life. My dad has business partners there with a son my age, so we spent time together. At 10, you can communicate without english.

"Of course we all know you mean from foriegn envasion, correct?"

"To further the discusion a little on subject, I would see the beginning of the decline of the Carolingian Frankish Empire lies with Charlemagne himself. Though a great military campaigner I believe he was a social failure. Just off the top of my head i would point out examples such as dividing his empire into three separate fuedal states, his inability to build longstanding infrastructures, his hypocracy with the Bohemians, his lost chance at conquering Iberia, and his lost chance at promulgating a robust hiearchy of nobles. The only reason Pepin was able to "usurp" (if that is too strong of a word i mean not to offend) the Merovingian lineage was partly due to the Church's insistence for possibly just cause, being that the last Merovingian King was an enept ruler (read paisley and depressed) and needed to be deposed. Pepin, being the Palace Mayor was the best choice, but from an 8th century point of view the wrong bloodline. Charlemagne inherited this (in an 8th century point of view mind you) commoner approach to issues and events, which in essence did not promote an infrastucture that could sustain all the nations and people he conquered.

Now, I am not saying He was a bad man he loved his children, nor do I believe he was a bad King, he loved his God and his country, however he did listen and trust to his mother in everything except that concerning the marriage to the daughter of King Desiderius of the Lombards, which still for unknown reasons repudiated her and sent her back to her father after one year of marriage, but that is of course another subject.

Well i cant say much for NYC except it looks like a great place from the GWB, but what's up with all the jugg handles, and what's up with the skinny narrow Staten Island Bridge, and what's up with all the low bridges, and why is Lady Liberty got her back turned towards Jercey city, and what's up with every body parking every where i have to make a right hand turns, and what's up with all the right hand turns, and why is the food so good there, cause it is, mmmmm buddy, and what's up with all the tall *** buildings anyway, and with all that weight why dont it sink in the Hudson R., and why odin why is the Lincoln tunnel so small, and why do i have to drive to conneticut to find a truck stop, and what's up with conneticut anyway, why is it so small, and what are yall gonna do about a-rod.

yes it is, however my opinion still stands that it was Charlemagne himself, that started the decline of the Franconian reign.
