Thread: Reversing Paypal payment

    Default Reversing Paypal payment

Today's change is not only wrong but a very bad business move. You do not make sudden changes that change the entire mechanics of the game without proper notice for people to prepare.

I spent money on this game to purchase coins with the understanding that BETA was over. Now with drastic changes like this on a live server I will be filling a petition to have charges reversed. I understand the need for changes and by all means implement them on new servers. Or at least give warnings so people can change there cities that they worked so hard to build.

Look at any other major game out there that made it. For example Everquest, WOW and so forth when there is a major change it is posted for the customer base well in advance and players are even offered something in return to fix what may have been changed in the play style of the game.

If I have not received a reply within 24 hours to this I will be contacting both Visa and Paypal to have all the charges reversed.

Which I am in the fill right to do as this game is promoted as being a game and not a BETA like Civony was. Which is clearly theft by deception.

I ask that other people who may have been wronged by paying for what is obviously still beta to stand with me on this.

And yes I know they do not charge for this game I did not have to purchase anything. Although I did choose to Purchase additions to a game that I enjoy not something in beta where I would loose everything I paid for because the developers decided they do not like the game anymore and want to make show stopping changes in the middle of it.

Well, you used a game exploit and built your entire evony experience around it. Besides you state that you found the game enjoyable, so why do you feel slighted that by your own choice you have decided to pay your money for additional items? The problem isnt with the game or todays patch (even though some sort of announcment should have been made), but with pimple faced teenagers raised by instant gratification society, who register for a free game and decide to look for exploits before anything else. Also, I am assuming you are no longer playing the game, considering your stance. Get real and grow up. This game wasnt meant to host users who build 200k archers a day and support them by exploiting an ingame bug Good luck getting your money back, because you will not see any of it.

You're confused if you think you just get to reverse payments on anything you don't feel like paying for anymore. It's not theft that the game requires fixing. "Game experience may change during online play" is written into every EULA of every online game since the dawn of the internet. if you don't expect it by now, you need to rethink your use of the net.

Generally, you have to give a reason for a chargeback, and the company in question can contest it. At best, your money will be returned, you'll be banned, and a note will be placed on your paypal account saying that you've done questionable chargebacks, which may prevent you from being able to use it anywhere, and at worst, your money will end up tied up in arguements and negotiation, and you'll get banned from the game and still not get the money.

If you feel it's a bad move to have paid, then that's fine. Accept that they let you down and move on. You don't get to just go taking your money back any time something doesn't thrill you to the level which you'd like, and using the financial systems of your country as a method of revenge in this manner could potentially lead you to legal trouble if they decide you're trying to defraud them.

It isn't a bug in the game it is a feature they built it that way, they cant just change it in the middle without so much a message to warn us. Me personally I never did NPC farm I didnt see a reason I never built armies that huge. But for people that did good for them I see no problem with it. In WoW they don't make lvl 80 characters attacks weak so they don't pick on lvl 10 character. They give them a starting area up to lvl 10 where they cant be attacked. (Much the same as the 7 day protection). What they did is inexcusable and this guy will get his money back I know it because I have dealt with this situation before and have gotten my money back. I hope Evony goes broke and all the servers crash its what they deserve.

And as for calling people pimple faced teenagers, dont insult people because you are a pimple faced teenager you wont knock anyone here down to your level. If it sound like an idiot, If it looks like an idiot, it must be an idiot. Shut the f*** up and go play something like neopets you will have more fun there, its more "fair".

Yea I dont know about you but I always think its a good idea to pour money into a game that devs are constantly patching w/o advance notice. If you didn't see something bad coming... well hopefully everyone see's wtf I've been talking about. Another super game to come out of asia and suck some more foreign currency down their fat necks. Sorry its been used too many times.... Glad I didn't put a red cent into the game. Total war is looking more appealing every day now, thanks umge!

It isn't like WoW at all, stop making stupid comparisons. In WoW, your character doesn't get removed if it's killed in PvP.

However, if you want a fair comparison, we'll make one out of WoW.

Say WoW WAS like that. Like Hardcore D2, where if you died even once, the char was wiped. Now say they add a new level 80 instance, and this instance is insanely hard. So hard that they never expect more than a few groups to complete it, so in exchange the final boss always drops a special gem which gives +1000 strength. Now, say an exploit was found by a group trying it, where if you cast a specific sequence of spells on the final boss, he glitches up and gets stuck in the wall, and won't attack back. Now due to this issue, everyone is running it every chance they get, and everyone is socketting these gems on their equipment. Now everyone is able to 1 shot everyone else in PvP. Would you call that a "game feature"?

The fact is, barbarian towns were meant to be tough. They were meant to require a lot of work, and a lot of losses to conquer. They give a big pay out for those capable of handling them. Sadly, we all found a way we could get all the reward for none of the sacrifice. It was never an intended game mechanic that people would be able to farm barbarian towns 20 times a day and gain 50m food an hour. The barbarian towns were intended, the reward was intended, the farming was not. Now they've fixed it.

But this isn't a glitch where a boss is getting glitched into a wall, this is a feature they built in Ballista where always supposed to have greater range so that they could take out wall defenses. So you telling me if I start sending 100K cav and get no losses they are going to put a cap on how many cav I can have in my army? its a feature not a glitch. Give up and stop calling it a glitch.
