Just a question, how can your circular logic prove that Zidane was the reason that they won La Liga in 2003? But what I was referring to, is that he retired after the 2004 world cup. If you say that Messi can't be up there because he hasn't played long enough, then you can't say Zidane belongs up there. How can you base "Best player of the decade" on his actions in less than HALF that timespan? You can't. If he would have played for 7 or 8 years of the decade in question, then most certainly, yes. I would agree that he belongs up there. I am not trying to say that he was NOT a great player, but rather, that he was an above average player in the timespan he played in the decade in question. Get it? Also, why would a Frenchman be paid in Italian Lire, when he plays in Spain? xD
