Please re-read the opening post. This is not a thread for what hot new movie you like this week. Are either of your movies "must see" classics that you will see dozens of times over your lifetime? Are they movies you will share with your grandchildren because of the enduring nature of the movie?

Please don't get caught up in the hype of "now" and hold a higher standard for movies you post here. I would have called out the person who posted "Clash of the Titans" too. But I assume he meant the old classic, which was a quantum leap forward in special effects at the time.

If you're going to list a recent movie, then at least share the reason it will be a "must see." What makes it so unique and special that everyone needs to see this movie? Please just have higher standards for this thread.

One of the best movies ever is the 10th kingdom. It used to be a series on tv but then it was turned into a movie. Its about these people from new york who meet a prince who was turned into a dog by a queen from a alterate world and are trying to find their way back to new york. Its pretty funny and i recomend it to anyone.

    I own the DVD!
It is definitely one of the best "made for TV" miniseries of all time.

In fact, I just used a quote from the wolf character in a thread, not long ago.

Couldn't agree more, such a brilliant film not many other films i could sit down and watch as many times as this, everything about it says amazing (acting, story, twists, directing)

But above that for me is another King/Darabont Classic Which is 'Green Mile' Tom Hanks who is one of my favourite actors and his performance is fantastic it has to be said but its Michael Clark Duncans performance as a death row inmate with supernatural abilities was simply mind blowing. This is by far the best of the Stephen King novels and highly recommended. Every now and then a movie comes along with such brilliance it blows you away. This is one of those movies.
We are what we repeatedly do.Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.

Not many comedies meet the "must see" standards. But, I just watched a crappy movie I've loved for ages. On the whole, it's a really bad movie. But it has dozens of "moments" that make me actually laugh out loud. I rarely actually laugh much more than a chuckle at comedy movies. But, this movie has some real ROFL moments in it. The soundtrack is a huge help to comedy in this movie.

Anyway... I can't believe I'm saying this is a "must see," but you should all force yourself to sit through...
