Thread: Is it a bug? A technique?

Default Is it a bug? A technique?

I had a very interesting thing happen today. I have seen this nowhere in the guides.

I attacked a valley held and defended by enemy troops. Killed a few pikes.

THEN shortly after the guy who I attacked..he attacked me back and took the valley back.

Couple interesting things happened. Number one my troops didnt auto heal. (It's ok I knew to look and heal them manually)

But the strange part was the counter attack. There was no flashing birdie at all. No warning what-so-ever. Further more the counter attack happened Right after (just 38 seconds later) but the attacking force was archers. The distance of 3.2 miles for him. Archers dont travel that fast, even at compass 10.

    Anyone know this trick?

edit PS I have a theory on how possibly it could be done.

Actually, I am guessing that he saw the flashing birdie when you attacked and immediately launched reinforcements. Since they marched before you owned the valley, you wouldn't get a flashing birdie, but once you owned it they'd switch to attack instead of reinforcement.

I'm just guessing here, but it makes sense to me and accounts for the unusually short travel time and the lack of a red bird.

I have tried that..sending reinforcements when he attacked me at a valley..that arrived slightly late....

My reinforcements returned as status changed...no battles

OK, then is it possible that he's mixing up who the two other players are? One he attacked and a whole other attacked him and took the valley?

Could be he released the valley then sent an attack right away after it. You killed the NPC troops, not his, got the valley, and his attack was right about to hit, then took the valley from you.

When people attack my valleys I usually release them if they arn't sending much so they lose their troops, it's always fun to do.

I think that Red Squirrel said it. I have done that before on some old servers. His answer is probably what happened.

nop flashing bird takes a few moments to appear cause of server delay.
If he was like 2 mins out u would probably see it
