The Future of Evony, and some hints to survive.
Well, first of all, the number of players will certainly go down...
With this new "nerfed" NPC system, the style of the game will change drastically. Seeing as people with really large armies can no longer support themselves for the most part, we will see a growing trend of this style:
Roaming Armies: What I mean by roaming armies is that these will be campaign sized, full 60-100k ballistae, 200k archers, etc. They will also be outfitted with many, many workers (for city building) and absolutely ridiculous numbers of transports.
They will constantly go in one direction, settling down in a city, then proceeding to raid every single person around them until they are either dead or dry. Taking over their cities and turning them NPC also provides some income. Then they'll pick up and keep moving.
I feel like I will see a lot of this in the near future with the much larger players. I myself have no need for that, but I definitely do not want that to be what Evony turns out to be.
Evony is about creating an empire, through any means necessary right? The result of this new fix is that we have degraded ourselves into barbarianism.
If you wish to survive this new future, if you are the guy with a large, unsupportable army, start building transports fast and workers. Also make sure you don't have anything above 8 cities. If you're the new player, then stop playing because you cannot do a thing.
--- Later on in the future, only those who have perfected this method will thrive since less roamers will exist. The population of the server will go down due to people losing entire armies and a rampant growth in annihilations. Good luck everyone, the future looks to become a wasteland.
(Thought of a new one)
Option 2: This puts extreme emphasis on an alliance working together. Basically, everyone comes together and builds as many cities as close as possible. Many of these cities will have little to no army, but are going to be supported by one large player. This player is essentially the lord and takes the food from the other so his army is supported. This allows for large conflicts to occur as well as that roaming lifestyle put away. On a side note, this could be used for the defense against roaming armies. A large alliance with many strong members can force a roamer back and perhaps take all of his goods.
