ok to answer the 4 questions i was asked YES i did all that. one of the first things i thought of when it first started to happen.

i do however apologize to most of you for my reaction to the whole whining comment. it just gets under my skin when someone wants to post crap like that instead of actually trying to help someone out with a issue.

i am gonna try the 2 links that was offered and then try the proxy server as a test and see if that works. i do aprreciate the information and i thank those that are trying to help.

well that is it, i am done with evony. i have tried everything under the sun as well as the suggestions that was given. i tried 3 diffrent computers, tried high speed net from a friend of mine, tried wireless, and even went as far as trying dial up from another person. nothing is working. i still keep getting the "NETWORK CONNECTION ERROR" so it has to be with evony's server, thanks to those that gave advise on diffrent things to try. it was a fun game while it lasted.

I have the same here. I also get "network connection error". Tried everything suggested: cleared the cache, restarted browser after that, tried IE, Firefox and Chrome, disconnected and re-connected again, tested it at a friend's computer with a different connection, heck even tried to log on to a different server. Finally I tried over a proxy, but it all does not work. I think server 144 is down and has been for the last 4-5 hrs. My Inet connection is slow, true, but other websites work normally. This is very frustrating for me as I am just about to end the beginner's protection period and I just paid 30 bucks to get some headroom. I probably will see my city destroyed without even getting the chance to defend myself properly because I cannot login. Is there nothing else I can do or should I simply wait until server 144 gets up again, assuming it's down? Thanks you all very much for any replies guys.

Now, what do you know, as soon as I posted my previous post, it started working again, so I guess the server 144 was just down. Sorry to have bothered you guys.

    Cheers.

I recommend playing evony through evony.com it works 90% if the time for me through that whilst facebook barely ever works, id say 15% of the time facebook works.

I do play through Evony.com. Yet it has been down for about 50 times since. Right now it's down once again.

However, what I just can't get used to is that the server goes down or stops responding on average a 25 to 30 times a day ad random. I mean, I paid money for this, like many other players, aren't they able to get servers that are capable of remaining up for 24 hrs in a row, not counting the daily security maintenance?

PS: today it was up and after an hour it went down and this about 12 times so far. This wasn't such a big problem if it wasn't that I have to try about 30 times to log in each time it goes down, to see if I can get in. That is a bit disgraceful, considering so many paying players.

MG95, the servers don't go down a dozen times a day. Many of us, myself included, seem to have no problem staying logged in (or logging in repeatedly) all day long.

I know it can be frustrating when you are having problems, but the problem isn't our servers. We'll help you figure out how to fix this if we possibly can, but we are limited to what we can do with regards to your personal computer.

Foxy is right. My one laptop for the longest time was having this issue. Almost every time I tried to login there was some problem, but my other computer was fine. The best thing to do is check with the forum or an alliance mate if you are unable to login. Then if you notice everyone else is able to but you are struggling you can go from there. Sometimes there can be program conflict, corrupted files, etc that can cause this.

    Compliments of the wonderful Warsimi!

...and on the flip side of that, I personally know with 100% certainty that my computer is absolutely fine, but yet from time to time, and with increasing frequency as of late, I just get the spinning clock from various servers. I would be in the middle of doing something, and the game would become unresponsive and the spinning clock would be there. The server that did this the most was 143, but I have issued a restart game on that server, so that's no longer an issue with that server, but it happens periodically on the remaining servers I'm on with any frequency, n4 and 144.

At any rate, when the problem happens, internet connectivity is fine. Access to other servers are also fine. Access to the impacted server eventually clears up without me deleting cache and cookies, using a different browser, restarting my computer, restarting my router or modem, etc, etc, etc...

To a customer, the "spinning clock" is "a crash". No, the physical server may not have gone down and you may still be able to play just fine, but to the general public, an inability to connect is "a crash". All it may be is somewhere in the chain between them and the physical server, a specific pathway has gone down.

It's not always the customer's computer to blame. We saw this fact with the Philippines. It was neither the customer's computers, nor the Philippine government.

After that, I helped the forum user "Cane" to definitively prove that it wasn't his computer, as he couldn't access a specific server, but could access other servers from the same computer *AND* could access the server that he wanted to access by using a proxy server in a different country (I think one here in the United States).

The issue didn't have anything to do with his computer, as if it did, then I wouldn't have been able to help him circumvent the issue.

In my opinion, there continues to be a problem with network peering / routing, most likely in / around the Los Angeles, California, USA, area. That has been the common point shared by people having significant problems. If it is not that, then it is a routing problem or other server problem between that point and the game servers, wherever they may be physically.

Further, there may be load balancing issues with the physical servers.

Early on in this thread, I was put out there as a reference for help. I'd like to ask that if one went so far as to ask a customer to come to me for help, for there to be the understanding that I would not intentionally try to steer the customer in the wrong direction. By that same token, I would also not intentionally try to steer the COMPANY in the wrong direction.

I've provided a ton of very good and FREE troubleshooting for both customers and the company. The company may not like my wording, but the only reason I end up having to word things so strongly is because of the continual conflicting notion of referring someone to me for help, but then discarding the advice I provide to the company. That, frankly, has me

I know it's not my computer. With 8 gigs of RAM, 4 times 4 Ghz of proc and the latest drivers, Win7 64, two vid cardsof each 256 MB ram and about 5 TB of space with all the latest firmwares and so on, I don't think the problem is with my hardware. So you guys tell me it's not you, but he Inet. The Inet provider tells me it's not them but you. So, who is it? I know how to clean my Inet cache and all the nifty little things to make stuff go faster. I've worked in IT since 1991, so I am not really a newbie. But thanks anyway.

I had a log in issue before i got canned..
Here is what happen, i am not saying that this happens to you, but it could or not explain some of the other unexplained log in error.

    Isp: dsl

Once every month as i remember, my internet would shut off for roughly 30 mins to few hours and this happens at midnight.
    How it affected me?
At the time i didn't know what was cuasing my problem, one minute i was on, the next minute i couldnt log back.
Did all the step which usually works, but wouldn't work this time.
After much frustration i would try to open and close window and it wouldn't let me connect to the internet. I complaint and they explain.. problem solve..

Second issue, my norton is set on schedule to run some test, and for some reason it would bug down my pc and causes long delay when attemping to log in evony, resulting in error. This was from a new pc i just bought then, which i return for another pc..

I can't say if the issue is resovle cause i haven't toyed around with evony in such a long time. Therefore I am not 100% sure if my anti virus (norton) was the real issue, or a mix of other maintaince running at once or one after the other.

Right now server 144 has been down yet again for nearly an hour. This morning it worked ok, but since about an hour it doesn't want to let me in again. Yesterday I got thrown out 39 times (yes, I counted them) and although some attempts to login went relatively easy, most of them were a pain again. Same goes for Saturday, Friday, nearly every day it's the same. I don't wanna nag, but I did pay money for this, so I can expect it to work decently at all times. I accept a degree of slowness while heavy traffic, but it shouldn't completely block me out that many times a day. Internet is working normally as I can visit and surf other websites w/o any problems.
I don't have Norton. I don't use Norton as it's about the worst AV there is around. Good at marketing and hyping, but really bad at what it's supposed to do. So my problem is definitively not being caused by Norton. I install my OS anew every 6 months and the last one was not even a month ago. I cleared all pssbl caches, removed any hindrances there pssbly could be and yet I can't get in for an hour now. Short interruptions ocurred earlier this morning as well, but not as long as this one.
