Default SAGE guide for new members

Note: This post is simple, no frills guide to help players against one attacker. Lesser prestige players are normally attacked for resources. As such, anyone attacking another player for plunder would only do so knowing losses will be minimal.
Evony is a complicated game and everyone has a different agenda when attacking. Our goal is to make each city as unattractive as possible against any attack.

? All cities should have lvl 10 walls if possible. If you only have 1 script, use it on your walls, not town halls. Although it looks cool to have a city that looks like a lvl 10 npc, it's only window dressing.
? As far as ATs, abatis, and traps, people are using more scoutbombs as scouts are cheap to produce. To counter this, think about building 6k traps, 1k abatis, and the rest ATs.
? Although cavs are used, they are primarily used to bring down loyalty and to clean up after the initial attack has wiped most of the troops out. Our hope is that attacks never get that far as you will be reinforced by alliance members.
? Scoutbombs are used primarily to take out archers. To combat that, you need to build archers and warriors using a 3:1 ratio. The actual ratio is different, but we?ll use 3:1 for the sake of keeping things on the safe side. Troop configurations will be discussed later.
? To fend off attacks, one must have padding. Padding includes: workers, warriors, pikes, and swords. It all comes down to protecting archers so they protect your city. "Padding" will absorb most of the damage, so it's imperative you build, aside from warriors, swords and pikes at a 3:1 ratio. Again, most main attacks involve archers, not huge numbers of cavs. Using huge numbers of cavs is normally for advanced players, so for the sake of this simple article, it will not be discussed.

We are not a big alliance, therefore, we need to concentrate our efforts on city defenses before we can think offensively. Here are my suggested troop configurations based on 100k archers. Note: try to keep the ratios based on your archer count so as to maximize the defense of your archers.

    100k archers
    100k scouts
    300k warriors
    60k swords
    20k pikes
    10k cavs (for loy runs)

I know these are big numbers for some and many of us aren't there yet. Again, use the archer ratio as your guide. For example, if you only have half the number of archers (50K), you'll need half the number of suggested troops.

Note: once you reach the above numbers, you can specialize your troop build up depending on the type of attacks you prefer most.

You may be asking, "Why do I need to do this? Isn't building archers enough?" The answer is no. Evony battle mechanics is based off of layering, or rainbows. As such, some troops engage the enemy at different times. By using this to our advantage, archers are given additional rounds in which to dispatch enemy troops. If all one used were archers, they'd be dead quickly. By layering defense or offense, archers are max protected to either attack or defend.

    Medal Farming:
Here?s a link on medal farming that has helped many to acquire medals for promotion. I posted this one due to the fact that others posted it helped them. Enjoy.

    I'd build armies like this..

    100k Archers
    120k Swords
    90k Pikes
    100k Warriors
    1.2k Ballistae
    2k transporters
    20k Cavs
    250 workers
    200k Scouts(unscoutable)

    Walls:
    8k traps
    15k ATs
    1k Abatis

    Build up that ratio.

Thanks for the replies all. You're right, after some thought, i'd use my script on rally spot also.
@ Satan. I've read many of your posts and have used your information, so I feel fortunate that you have given me some constructive criticism on troop make up.

200k scouts unscoutable lol thats a laugh lol i have scouted guys with 300k scouts in there cities its all down to how many u are prepared to send, as for scoutbombs if ur swords out number ur archers the swords take the hit until the numbers drop below ur archers then the archers take the hit, taking out layers for the experienced player is quick and fast 1st to die are cavs then pike then swords then warriors, warrior bomb usually deals with the cavs, quick easy to build then rainbows take out the rest of the layers followed by a cav smack to kill off the archers. It is important to spam the defences with cav/scouts to remove traps and abatis warrior bomb also triggers traps and logs although cavs don't trigger logs, i have used scoutbombs to clear way for archer rainbows and camp them to hit just b4 rainbows to soften layers/kill archers.

Good Luck in evony only the strong survive having a good alliance is everything.

Just saying, normally I let people see inside my city and then let them decide if they want to attack.

@cheyenne, this is a guide for new players. Does my city look like this? No. The point of this article was to provide newer or inexperienced players a troop count goal so as to make them less appealing for someone trolling for resources. Unless you've got something personal against a player, you'll probably move onto to easier prey if all you want are resources.
