Age 2 currently has no attack option for regular player cities. This is something that is being addressed as far as everyone knows though. Hopefully it will change soon. Currently without an attack option, there is no risk, and it is rather boring really.

Age 2 has historic cities. This is an entirely new aspect of the game. Nothing like this was seen in age 1 and it is far more challenging and harder to deal with than most things you will come across in age 1, though the real challenge only starts at level 14+.

Age 2 has a level cap of 100 for regular heroes, and 150 for historic heroes. I have yet to see anyone praise this. It is really one of the weakest and most pointless things about age 2. Worst thing about it though, is that a level 100 hero in age 2 is far weaker than a level 100 hero in age 1. One of the greatest things about age 1 is that you can freely upgrade heroes as high as you want. This was regrettably lost in age 2.

Player made NPCs are gone, and troop upkeep is 50% of what it was in age 1. With NPCs disappearing, there are no more problems with not being able to move for inactives any more. Rather now people complain because they want those flats for medal farming, which is far smaller an issue and will cause no problems realistically. Lower upkeep is one of the greatest things that was introduced to age 2. It is now easy to maintain an army of millions per city with barely having to farm.

Facebook. Like most I criticised it at first, but not two weeks ago did my alliance almost demand that I start using it because it is so helpful to them. There are pretty useless things like 100 swordsmen etc. but I have someone in my alliance that has never trained any cavalry on the server but got 60k through Facebook over time, so I guess it adds up. There are other useful things about it too, like free war horns, penicillin etc.

Many will argue that people who spend money on the game will rule the server in age 2. This is true but not always for the reasons these people are thinking. It is buying materials for hero gear that gives them such an advantage. I have yet to see anyone document a material drop, and no-one knows where they are meant to be, so you would be stuck at level 2 for everything unless you got lucky on the wheel.

Lag and bugs. Like nothing you have seen on age 1. Most of the major ones have been fixed, and rightfully so. But there are still noticeable differences between how age 1 servers run, and age 2 servers.

I think age 2 is definitely worth trying, but if you are currently playing age 1, I would most certainly not abandon that account until you have at least tried end game of age 2. That is where the real party starts.

Good assessment of Age 2... I concur with everything you said... not willing to waste time to reach end game on Age 2 however.

Thanks for the straight answer monkey.

Not hardly true at all. I have several lvl 10 cities with all farms and all lvl 9-10 lakes that are -2mil +/hour and they dont have millions of troops. Farming to feed my troops is an all day event, every day.

Don't suppose you are on about age 2? I have a city with 2 mil+ troops, the upkeep is only -380k. Hardly an "all day event".

Did you make this statement before they nerfed the food buff?

I think so? Though I never used the buff after hearing of it. It seemed clear that it was not intended. Did not want to be seen to be using an exploit. Though if I had used it, I would have had far more troops than just a few million per city. People in my alliance have huge armies because of it...

Then you are doing it wrong.

-2mil an hour is -48mil a day. That's only 3 lvl10 NPC farms. That would take you about 4 minutes to organize and send. How is that an all day event?

I think (as it stands today) the troop consumption in AgeII is more than fair. I can field a large and potent army by sending one or maybe two rounds of NPC farms (with each round netting 154mil food, allowing each city to support a maximum of over -12mil/hr, although I'm not quite at that level in every city....yet). I do mine first thing in the morning and when I log off at night, leaving time for RL and actually playing in between.

must be nice to have full level 10s all the time, im lucky to pull half a load each attack, so im shooting out 2-3 times as many attacks to pull in the food you are getting and considering the closest 10 to some of my cities is a 20 min march, it can very easily be an all day event. i just hope they include player plunder when they add the attack button, then i can farm the players that are getting full level 10 loads
