7 cities you say? that's 6 more barb towns to farm. Cords?

I knew the Cornucopia era would end. And I most certainly would have done better in both prestige and honor if I had participated with the rest of the zerg players.

But even when the Horn of Plenty seemingly blesses you with endless resources from some magical place, I strive to find that perfect balance of debits and credits in my expenditures. Maybe it is just the entrepreneur side of me or even the years of experience I have with MMO styled games.

I would say 'I told ya so'. Except all the people I told, quit already.

There is a reason the game was getting boring even before this stealth patch, and that reason was because the challenge was gone.

Others in my alliance have gone inactive due to nothing interesting to do.

So perhaps now is my time to shine.

Can't call it an exploit, or abuse of the rules. I only started doing it when the Devs gave it the thumbs up.

How did they give it the thumbs up? By messing with the gold drop amounts after everyone had talked about barb farming for weeks. They knew it was going on, they didn't say stop, they just claimed they made it more reasonable.

Besides, you have to farm barb cities to get your max title, the only place I have seen nation and justice drop reliably is off of a level 10 NPC city. Hit level 10 valleys and you get rose. Hit level ten NPC and you get nation.

So, the game FORCES you to attack high level NPC cities to get your title. If you want your tenth city, you pretty much have to hit level 10 NPC towns 50-100 times.

So, calling hitting barb towns 50-100 times an exploit is pretty BS. If the Devs didn't want you to hit them dozens of times they wouldn't hide the things you need in there and give them low drop rates.

So all this 'spirit of the rules' stuff is just BS to make one's self feel morally superior to people who played smart in an effort to achieve goals.

Oh, and it is still very possible to feed 10 million food worth of troops. It just requires taking off the kid gloves and farming newbies along with Barb cities. People are not going to lose their armies. They can in fact continue to build up. Their armies however now come at the expense of everyone under 200k pres.

I am going to have 90k ballista tomorrow and the day after, and I am finishing up my third catapult barracks now. In a month or so I will have 90k catapults. That hasn't changed. What has changed is that the areas around me will no longer be a field of blue flag I protect while they grow strong enough to join us or our sister guild. They will be dieing cities waiting to be wiped, farms, or NPCs.

So, three cheers for the barb patch. I am sure the 100 or so players my Alliance pounds on until they quit are cheering over the fact that now I have to send tens of thousands of ballista at their towns if I want to keep them.

The same thing is going to happen in hundreds of other places. Heck, most people were already farming noobs for honor. Now almost everyone has to farm noobs to continue expanding.

    Way to go =P

Exactly how long do you think it takes to fix a problem? First, you have to isolate what the exact problem is, then go through tons of code-checking to find what the actual code is doing, THEN you have to perform a rewrite which can take days or even weeks, THEN you have to put the new code into place (which is not a simple matter of cut&paste), THEN you have to design the protcal for running the patch to correct the issue, THEN you have to put the code in place so it CAN be patched, THEN you have to hope you didn't mess something up along the way and have to go through this entire process all over again.

All this threatening of PC cities is retarded. PC cities won't supply you what you need in the quantity you need it. If you hit them too hard and often, their loyalty zeroes out.

    LOL OMG!

They will be back here complaining about loyalty tomorrow!

"Well, uhm... loyalty should be "fixed" because it drops too fast and then the people stop making food for me to feed my armies with... and all that."

This was the only thing i think was drastic .. they should have given some notice, granted the people who just wanted to continue to get unlimited resources with out any consqunces would still complain.

First off it isn't a threat. It is just the required action to a) keep what you have and b) continue to grow.

It is simple cause and effect. People originally attacked other people who couldn't fight back for resources. Then it was discovered that NPCs had much more to offer, so people stopped. Now that NPCs don't have much more to offer, things go back to the way they were.

It isn't a threat, it isn't rocket science, it is the natural and quite predicable course of action. This is a war game. Troops are going to target someone. Take away NPC targets, and that leaves PC targets.

The nerfs (plural) hits the people who haven't been hitting NPCs the hardest. Think it through.

Step one: people were allowed to farm massive amounts of resources and build up massive armies.
Step two: Their income was taken away, forcing them to seek other sources.
Fun fact one: Newbies produce resources at the same rate as vets.
Fun fact two: Newbies are unable to defend their resources from vets.
Fun fact three: In the same patch as NPCs got gimped, the method newbies used to protect their resources from vets got gimped as well.

You don't think the two nerfs were linked? The timing is a coincidence? Even the Devs expected us to start targeting low pres players, and they gimped their ability to defend their goods from us.

Give the man a cookie! ^-^

Thats pretty much the point. Grind them two times or more a day until they go inactive. When loyalty drops do zero cap and abandon. Poof, one more NPC farm.

Do this to everyone, and you have 50 new NPC farms.

yeah, we would have just been complaining longer, that's all. or leaving the game earlier.
