    Default Euthanasia

Okay this is a very controversial area of discussion so I would like you all to make sure that you do not break any of the Forum Rules http://bbs.evony.com/showthread.php?t=615 and the new rules FoxyBunny has enforced http://bbs.evony.com/showthread.php?t=140016.

I'll kick things off by stating my position on the matter of Euthanasia. I feel okay with the way Sweden conducts, enforces and allows the authorization of Euthanasia. They have a lot of procedures to go through and double-checking of papers before conducting the procedure.

I am in full support of people who can no longer live with their disease/condition and who like in constant chronic pain. However I will leave you with one last though - what if the person is brain dead/paralyzed, who makes their decision to terminate their life even though you know they are in diabolical pain?

What are your opinions on the matter of Euthanasia?

I agree too, sometimes if your suffering like uhh unbearbly and your going to die anyway, it would nice to have a option to go out peacefully.

I think the person who knows them best should decide, though brain scans (lol whatever there called) Were sometimes wrong, 27 years after a person was supposedly brain dead like a vegetable, they scanned his brain again and noticed functioning brain waves, though he couldn't move or talk but he was alive and seeing things....for 27 years

Euthanasia should only be in use imo, if your in absolute dire agony and you wont survive, if you will likely survive, put them under painkillers and gas then...As long as the pain will subside soon enough, if not, there choice.

I personally would like the person who knows me best or a family member to decide....

Thats my thoughts, though I think i went a wee bit off topic somewhere in there.

Euthanasia is great and all. However if you are force to kill yourself because it part of society then that crossing the line.

Be like Ricky he smoke, swear, grew weed, and go jail

in no way is the following compairson to meant to demean or belittle those in such an unfortunant situation but i feel it has its marets as being universaly understandable. i am sure we have all been in a position or been close to some one in a position to put down a favored pet whos quilty of life is less then they deserve. (if not i pitty only that you can not understand the turmoil of thought that loving owners struggle through)
my personial oppinon on the matter lies along the same lines, adding ofcouse the morral and personial prefrences of the loved one in question. when ones quilty of life is less tollerable then on can tollerate, one ought to have the oprtion to shorten the time spent miserable. in cases where one can not speak for ones self and the topic has never been discussed with loved ones, a best guess must be the perogitive of those who know the mind and heart of the loved one in question. their moral allignment, their previously stated beliefes on the topic, their current and future quilty of life ect should all be carfully concidered by those in the unfortunate position to make such a heart wrentching decission.
the time may come for any of us where our loved ones may need to make such a diffacult choice. i think it is important to discuss before such an unforseeable time comes as to our own prefrences. in places where it is not currently an optiopn i think it still worth discussing with ones close friends and family incase the option arises after ones oppinon is unattanable.
i know that in the US if one has a DNR (do not ressitate) order in long standing and suffers some tragity where the parimedics arrive affter the person question is unconcious the parimedics are required to disregard the DNR and attempt to safe the life of one who has consistantly declined such services. this unfortionate truth is the result of what i percive to be a mind set that all life must be preserved dispite its quality or lack there of.
