But as for the topic at hand, I think we should remember that a large portion of our spam explosions in Off-Topic come from brand new forum members who feel the intense urge to spawn a 1,000 post count within their first month here. Those sort of people are automatically kept away from the SOT by the time restriction. I'm not sure that's a bad thing, are you?

If it is a serious debate section, I would be interested to see how people there post compared to here, or most of the sections on this forum.

I couldn't, for example, take anyone serious without creditable references in their argument - in a serious debate.
