Thread: Greed

    Default Greed

I understand this is a war game. However I'm not happy with the recent decision of the developers to clear so many npc's. In fact if it's not fixed, I'll simply walk away from the game for good. I'm tired of making NPC's and waiting 8 days for the level 2 you left me to become a 10. You have your reasons and I have mine.

    Regards

Perhaps it's just server 139. We have plenty of Npc's as well, the problem is I wake up to 30 of them missing around my cities which causes 2 problems. 1st it unexpectedly leaves my city vunerable to people porting, and 2 it leaves me less to farm in the morning. I would assume their reasoning behind this is we spend more time on the game, which generally speaking equates to more money for them. Evony seems to care only about the almighty dollar and less and less about their customers with each passing decision they make.

Come on guys, just suck it up and NPC some more flats. Removing the NPCs adds spice to the game. What's a war game without danger right

False statements and incorrect assumptions have been the downfall of many a person.

The reasoning behind it is because:
    a) This isn't farmville. Stop making "fields" of NPC's and spending all day farming. Instead, try using strategy.
    b) This is a war game. Hiding behind a zillion NPC's to ensure you'll always have 4 hours of birdie flashing before an attack is not in the spirit of the game.
    c) The developers have decided that clearing the NPC's to free up flats is a good idea in order to promote more active gameplay and allow people to create new cities or join the server.

The NPC's are not yours. They are not linked to your account and you hold no claim on them. If you want to own that NPC and be sure we won't remove it, conquer it and make it one of your cities.

Very well said. I might also add it is good business move for Evony too.

I don't mind the new flats, especially when they hit 6s - 9s & under 5s. It will get a bit tiring if evony clears the same NPCs multiple times, which is what some of the posts seem to suggest. My first city got hit by the clean up wave this morning so I will have to see. It definitely adds some spice to the game. Of course we come back to the age old problem of whose going to port in? Threat levels a bit low right now, as many have already pointed out.

Bit about evony promoting new players to join the server is amusing though. Probably the most damaging thing evony has done so far is mess up the medal drop rate. A lot of the new players that accidentally wonder onto our server soon get disillusioned by the lack of medals. Getting to Prinzessin is well I won't say impossible, because PayPal can overcome many mountains.

But despite following all the advice I've only picked up one nation medal from a valley. Guess since I'm going to be abandonning valleys to pick up flats, might net a few more.

You hit the nail on the head bigtime with that statement. All of the medal drops and item drops are constantly in adjustment. They increase the rate..and the sick 2000 a day NPC farmers end up with 150 Mich scripts..but nerf the drops and everyone else gets nada....

New players dont stand a chance.

Abolutely agree, thats why many players get annoyed with evony. Evony make incorrect assumptions and false statements. I am glad that you see that too.

    1. Many players and payers have developed the npc fields, spending many many hours/days working on it and therefore are naturally upset when evony changes the rules without sufficent notice.
    2. Calling players cowardly (and your statements make this reference clear) for being upset about the sudden change in rules is not gonna endear you to them. Such statements will only lose evony customers. And most players with large npc fields are customers. They have been playing the longest.
    3. The reason behind the changes may be valid, and evony has the right to do whatever it likes with its game, what it does not have the right to do is make light of the discomfort those changes cause to its customers. Show some respect for those players who liked the npcs, who have been loyal evony players for months or even a year. Calling them Farmville players is not respectful. Players use that term as a insult.
    4. One reason for this change is also to encourage players to play Age2, where this change is accepted by now as standard.
    5. There were other methods of fixing the issue, including the code change to allow new players to appear anywhere a npc or flat was, and allow teleporters to randomly select npc or flat areas would have resolved the issue without taking out a large amount of npcs. And it would have been easy enough to do, as demonstrated by the fact that evony can easily distinguish between player npcs and original npcs in age2.
