I'm sure they'll talk when the product is almost flawless.
But 1 post couldn't hurt tho, else i'm ganna start thinking they don't even watch the forums and just assigned some people to watch there forum because they can't be arsed.

Wink In my humble opinion i think...

That you ask to much from them. They must fix bugs in the game, and from 2 to 2 min check the forum to answer to some questions like "What did you eat for breakfast?" (a little absurd example but meaning-full ) Fixing stuff is not as easy as it seems , they don`t sit in front of their PC with Evony game page opened and say "Evony fix yourself" and boom it`s bugs-free. These kinda stuff takes a lot of time/work and from what i have seen they have talked to us and when there was something that we should have known they posted it. Like Beeblbrox said : "priorities are priorities" and that`s that.
    I am watching you ....

That's bullcrap. Sorry. I'm not asking for "what did you eat" I'm asking for a 1 page post saying "This is what we're changing this week"

That is NOT hard, and takes less than 5min. Surely there's not 1 person behind this whole thing, working 23hrs/day drinking coffee and snorting coke to keep it going. There's a staff, they are making money off us(otherwise, you don't have 9 servers going), they could at least throw out a paragraph of comments daily.

I've posted here approx. 20 times in the last 2 days. I work approx. 60+ hrs/week, have a family, manage to get some sleep, and play way too much of this game.

I have plenty of issues with the game, but one is not the NPC "nerfing." That was an improvemnet and, if this fix drives away rotten players (as the protest posts suggest they are), then our community is better off.

Trust me.. we all wish that Evony could talk to us more.

And fixing hardware issues isn't as easy as it looks. And neither is fixing game issues *shudders* Coding is a pain.. and it takes forever to sort out what it the problem, and correct it.

Coding is a nightmare... I've played with my fair share.

I think most of us here have some understanding of the trials involved in fixing buggy software, but I don't think its too much to ask that they put some effort into PR and community management. I do marketing and social media for my company, and it can be a lot of work, but its the way you keep your customers.

I'm new to the forum section of Evony myself, and I never really pay attention to PR and staff updates, but I do recognize that lack of communication between staff and consumer is a very bad problem indeed. True, I've done some coding myself and know what a nightmare it can be, but I also know that a simple post saying, "This is the issue, this is how we're trying to fix it," should not be a problem on any level.

The lack of communication only shows that Evony doesn't really care about their player base. Dawnseeker always posts on time in the Evony Queen threads, but he doesn't post patch notes until HOURS after they are put into effect. By that time, the players have already posted what was changed. Maybe we should divide up his paycheck and give it to us players for doing his job.

The reason that Bungie is my favorite game developer is because they have people on their staff who's sole job is to PLAY the game with their player base, and get their feedback on what they would like to see. The next time you play Halo 3, you can start taking with you team mate about what he does for a living and he’ll say “I’m actually a play tester for Bungie who’s here to …. Did you see how I just fraged that guy? Shoot him in the back and assassinated him! Anyways, I see what you guys like and want to see in the game, and let the developers know. Best job ever.”

They are more than happy to answer questions about buying game cents.
