This is a serious business discussion. Keep the trolling for seriously on topic section please.
Feel free to discuss what compels humans to commit such crimes that seem unimaginable to others.
Insanity might have a hand in it.
Crimes are basically a violation of another persons civil rights. Crimes occur when you decide that your needs trump another persons right to security.
We have the right to leave our house and expect to come home without our stuff being stolen or destroyed. We have the right to expect that money, and material goods we obtain should remain ours to do with as we please.
We have the right to live without others doing physical harm to us.
I don't know if greed is the right word. Selfishness is definitely the defining factor.
It is a fact that infants are completely selfish. They are supposed to be. In order to survive, an infant cannot be thinking "Mom is busy, so I won't cry for food right now." As children grow they must be taught empathy and sharing and compassion. I think a lack of those qualities is what leads to crime.
Jealousy. I want to be rich and have nice things so I take your purse for some extra money.
But when you do that, and you don't bother taking into account the fact that I worked for my money, and that maybe I have my rent money in there or my money for Christmas presents for my children, then isn't that just a selfishness thing again? You simply don't think about me. Right?
