Thread: Help me Understand!

    Default Help me Understand!

When we merged last time we had 14 days of 0 upkeep to make NPCs and capture lvl 10 flats to support our troops! Why did our 0 upkeep end after 3 days?? this is Bull! We cant feed our troops on a map with 10 times as many people without our farms! WHY did this change! We are in trouble on ss47! I assured my enitre alliance as well as many others that we had 10 to 14 days of 0 upkeep ( LIKE LAST TIME ) so every one was building troops with that in mind. thinking we had time to get all of our lvl 10 valleys back! WHY did this change without notice. also we were told the map would be bigger! we were on 800x800 and it is still 800x800! Please Make this right!

    Derka Derka Derka HUUUURRRR
We were promised 3 days of no upkeep, they gave us 3 days of no upkeep.
They screwed up and forgot to put upkeep back on last time, giving us 14 days.

At least until a certain ex-mod *coughs* made mention about this small blunder.

So a precedent was set as we have already had a merge... then no explanation about any blunder.. so our expectation ( like the map size) was / and should have been that it would be the same as the last merge. So help me understand how it is fair that we all had lvl 10 valleys for production and NPC farms built to support an army but somehow we are expected to start from scratch and rebuild all that in 3 days when the valleys only change once a day? But we should be happy with the "merge package" ? you know this is bull and there can be no good explanation to this.. its just plain NOT fair!

Prior to the said merge, the details of what you're to expect were clearly stated in the page where you were directed to register for. The three days' worth of upkeep was stated there; I don't see why you should base your expectations on former merges instead of the black-and-white merge details given to you. That, sir, is just utter rubbish.

Well I based it off a previous merge because the email we received said we would be on a LARGER map.. I knew this wasn't gonna happen. I knew it was still going to be an 800x800 map so why would I believe that the rest of it was going to be accurate.. If the entire email was correct then I would have no argument. but it wasn't! So let just say I have ESP and Knew that we only had 3 days when we had 14 before. Tell me how on earth anyone could get back in 3 days what they lost before the merge? especially when there is 10 times the number of people on the server as there were before? Please explain to me how that is fair? ANd dont tell me that the "MERGE PACKAGE" compensates that. Now if we had a separate email explaining that the privious merge didnt go accoriding to plan and they didnt copy and paste the whole " AGEII rehetoric" about coming out "soon" why on earth would we belive that it was going to be different than last time? So somehow we are supposed to know what part of the email was accurate and what parts were not? Or does evony reserve the right to determine what parts they want to adhere to and what parts they dont? please feel free to explain it to me. what is more likely is that no one will explain it and it will be ignored

Quite a rant-filled post you have there. Relax.

The notice about the merge came three days before it's to take place. If you had properly prepared for it, you would have known how to handle your food consumption problem. This is something you don't rely on the Evony team to do for/tell you.

You could have stocked up enough food to support your army for a minimum of 2-5 days, just to tide you over if ever the free food buff expires exactly after 3 days. You could have also filled all your other city slots with new undeveloped cities before the merge which you can easily port to level 5 or 10 flats near you and then abandon for instant NPCs, and just come out of protection early to be able to farm them.

The map size wasn't included in the merge details given to the players, was it? So basically you were just assuming it'll be "larger", when all Dawn said about it was that it was going to be a "bigger world", which may or may not mean the same thing as a larger map. Your ESP is a bit off there ...

This merge is different because it combined previously merged servers, which means more people, so of course it would be crowded. However, this also opens up more chances of plundering resources from other players without having to march too far to get them.

I agree that the merge package doesn't compensate all of the efforts that the players will be exerting, but the setup is far from being unfair.

If you have any more woes about the merger and you feel that your opinions embody those of the majority of the server you are in, you can always contact the reps about it.

    Default 3 days not enough

Whether or not notice was given, 3 days free upkeep is not enough. First, you are presuming that everyone can arrange their time to fit your merge schedule. Second, even if the player is on every day, 3 days is not enough time to make npcs sufficient to feed troops. Evony, instead of responding with "We told you so.", should be responding with an answer for how we're going to feed our troops. It's enough to make me quit playing and I've got over two thousand dollars invested in this game. So, do you want to be right or do you want to be in business?

WOW! Did you read the email? LOL did you not notice the reference to Evony age II soon to be released? It was the identical email we got from the 1st merge with a few changes about server numbers. Much like the same emails we get about the $5 FOR 250 CENTS worth emails that just have different dates. LOL please dont try to defend this.. I understand you have to take evony side but you dont seem like an idiot to me so please try to refrain from trying to make me look like one.

I am not Speaking for myself! I have plenty of food to get through this. I am speaking as a HOST of an alliance that is losing members rapidly because of this. If you would stop pointing a finger at me and look at the big picture you may see what it is I am saying!

I apologize if my response sounded like I'm pointing fingers / singling you out. That wasn't my intention.

Couldn't you start looking for other means to help your current situation, though? For instance, NPCs, share resources, sell resources in exchange for food, plunder other players, send troops away as reinforcements, etc. I'm not against the food buff being extended, but until the people with authority gives their word about the matter, the players have nothing to do but make do with what's at hand.
