Let's chat, shall we? Now, I've been super indulgent. I posted a very serious thread about cleaning up the Off Topic, and you all spammed it mercilessly and I let you. At the same time, I noticed that some of you grew more cautious in the last few days. You were posting intelligent things in intelligent threads. You restrained your spam to the threads devoted to such nonsense. I didn't think it would last, so I've made a serious presence of myself here.
Today, of course, it all fell the pieces. Two people looked over a thread created by someone else. They thought it was stupid. They didn't choose to report this as potential spam to a moderator. They didn't make a polite post about their opinion. They didn't quietly pm the OP about it. Instead, they made a great big flaming train wreck of the thread, with pages upon pages of posts that were pure and utter idiocy.
THIS is exactly what I was talking about, and I want you to know I was not kidding when I said I won't tolerate this anymore. The two people who started the whole mess have been suspended. Those of you who came in late and participated (you know who you are) may take this as a warning. Next time, I will suspend EVERYONE INVOLVED.
First suspension is 24 hours. Second is 3 days. After that, I'm done. I will permaban you for filling the forum with garbage. We don't need this here.
For those of you unfamiliar with the forum rules, I suggest you begin studying them. For those of you who think you are untouchable, I suggest you think again. For those of you who think I like you too much to permaban you, you are deluded. And for those of you who forgot what I said in the first post of this thread, I suggest you go read again and take what I said to heart.
