Yea, forums do need trolls. Why do you think they keep ruloe breakers around longer then when they break the rules? because they realize for a healthy community they need a few trolls.

I'd rather you provide hard evidence supporting this "we need trolls" theory rather than general statements. For all you know, what trolls do might just go under the radar since we don't have access to the moderator logs.

And we derailed a thread that was fail to begin with. Its not like we picked a perfectly good thread that had potential for good discussion, it was going to be a thread where 2 grammar cops corrected peoples grammar, that sounds fun. Would have been dead by the second page.

Now i've seen pointless threads, but rather than trolling them I simply choose not to reply in those that don't interest me. What would have been better for you to do (and anyone else involved) is to report the thread, VM or PM a moderator requesting they close the thread and specifying your justification behind the way you feel. The only people who find it funny when a thread is derailed are the people responsible for it. onlookers tend to just get frustrated because a thread on here can't leave the first page without a load of nonsense being posted on it.

Like I said, no they don't. I'm probably sounding quite boring, but from my two weeks or so time on here, trolls have literally wrecked the forum. Threads get closed left, right and centre because they're constantly derailed rather than taking more appropriate action.

Most of my trolling is so full of sarcasm it actually means i usually like the person I am referring to. Very rarely am I just straight trashing someone.



The problem is these little whiners that want to become mods so bad(miss kitti) that they report every single post they think might possibly be bad and whine and cry and send a thousand pms to every mod on the boards

Not everyone likes the style of humor I present, and that is fine, I am not doing it for you, I dont troll evony, i dont troll outside of the OTF. We have a serious off topic for a reason. This should be renamed the spam forum because every single thread here that is allowed to stay here is simple spam, and retarded gouge your eyes out spam at that. But you make one funny post or one funny thread with something that makes sense and strikes home in a satirical way and you get banhammered into next week.

The problem here is, the off-topic forum isn't intended to be a spam forum, so no matter how you may interpret it, that is not the purpose of it. It's just for relaxed chit-chat. Personally i'd rather see proper humour rather than immature trolling involving a mixture of annoying, recycled images, leetspeak and generally pointless posting.
