Because when i make a thread that is not closed within 2 hours and does not insult anyone or anything, people know its serious.

Or so they use too, i dunno about this new wave of wanna be trollers and spammers, and the few good posters left.

You are relying on people's familiarity with you to keep things serious, ignoring the fact that everybody not familiar with you will see the leet and take it at face value. There is nothing serious about leet.

L33t is not an automatic sign for serious.

Its the sign youre on the internet.

Ive seen plenty of times when l33t was used in serious situations, because people still opt to use it.

Whether it can and whether it will are two different things. Leet has the connotation of, 4chan quality lack of seriousness. When people see it they will instinctively not take it serious.
