RuinUrDay S146 (Retired).
+REP me if I helped you.
No this is a good thing that it is turned off. This now eliminates the daily need to support your troops which in turn allows people to step away for from the game for a little while and not have their work destroyed.
All I am saying is that they need to take it another step farther.
I think any change is going to wreck Rome.
Notice my double post.
Edit: Thanks for merging my posts mods. lmao!

I know if one city has no food it takes from the others. But what if all cities are tapped of food? Has anyone seen if troops refuge then? Would be something to think about. But for the "supply to other cities" option that was added in age II i have to say bravo to the coders. Very beneficial.![]()
FREE NAILBOMB!!!
I think the 0 refuge is as much a problem as it can be a bad thing. Even more so a problem.
Had to leave the game for a while and came back when the the Fb buffs where reset with no food in 1 city(lucky I guess)
I think it's worse because it basically makes this city a dead city,
You can't do anything whatsoever to it.
Before anyone points out the obvious yes I did transport food to the city used marketplace yada yada yada ......ya.![]()
[World]<04:30>[Delectio]: how do you find out the location of someone who declared wart on you?
Rep me or I will declare WART on you!
Zero refuge is the stupidest things invented. I have a guy on Na1 at 700 700 that was given that city for free from Shame a player that quit. All he knows how to do is draft everyone, used a stratagem on him to find out what was in city.
Now tell me after looking at that report that the no refuge is stupid.
Zero FOOD, 35mill warriors, 2.6mill archers, 683k pike, 65k sword, 119k ballista, 21k rams, + plus small others for layer

Since you cant loose troops, only problem with 0 food in every city is, you cant make anything anyways, but yes takes from 1 city and moves on to the next city. When you run out of food, oh well just dont make nothing lol. its nice when you leave for vacation for like 2 weeks and you come back and HEY YOU STILL HAVE YOUR TROOPS. Puts a smile on my face Granted you dont get attacked and colonized and drafted till they are gone and all your heros are taken away from sow discard. Dang dont get colonized!
So i just got done cleaning out my gun closet and this is what i found
+1 Rep if i helped
The main arguement here is the difference between how it is supposed to work and how it does work....
Here is the problem..before you could store troops at an iron village or wood village and therefore all your wheat producing villages still produced 100%...so they fixed that and made it pull from other villages automatically..that lead to bugs...so they went to fix that too..all the while changes they made caused the Refugee to bug out and troops mysteriously vanished....so they turned that off..and went to working on those bugs....
Plenty of work happening behind the scenes..some I know about but most I can only guess...since the developers are very guarded about what they do.
However it is NOT productive to bad mouth other posters here. Even if you think they are wrong, there was probably a point in time when it was true. There will probably also be a point in time when what you are saying is no longer true.
Thats until they finally fix all the bugs.....and turn off the temporary fixes...and have the final version hashed out. That could be a while :P

I agree with everything you said but your last statement irritates me. This is supposed to be the final version. I understand that every game has little flaws that need to be addressed, but this game was released with major problems that are still to this day trying to be fixed. They are charging people money and since they are doing that then major bugs are unacceptable. At the rate they are going they might as well abandon Age 2 and start working on Age 3.
Anyone arguing that you "can't build anything if all cities are 0" is dead wrong.
Visiting an empire. 30 times a day. Almost 10 million food. Can this support a massive upkeep? Does it have to? No! LOL Can it build troops/buildings/research? Absolutely.
Then we have the market. Any decent player will have an iron/lumber city or a hybrid of the two. Given that these 2 goods are usually twice (if not more) the price of food, it is of no real consequence to sell a bit of it for some food to produce (since, hell, food is now useless otherwise).
This isn't even INCLUDING NPC5/10 farming. Even a bit of that (and we're talking 2-3 NPCs) would be enough to add to the FB reward collection and market gains to produce enough food for production in any city. A standard cottage set (6-9) is assumed in all of this. Queuing up 15k archers costs what...5 million food? No sweat. Would it be INCONVENIENT to remain at 0 food unless producing? Sure. Would it be possible? Sure.
Which brings me to the bottom line: any smart player realizes this is a fatal flaw, but will absolutely abuse it. Say hello to bloated armies (with no real cost to the player, time or otherwise).
Yes, I hated upkeep in age1. It was ridiculous and far too inflated, but requiring ZERO? Talk about an extreme step in the wrong direction.
