Not quite. Many of the things you're crediting as possibilities to the end of the world in 2012 were also used in 2000 and/or 2001 (Nostradamus, aliens, solar flares, earthquakes, polar shifts, etc.).
And for saying nothing pointed towards Y2K like it does in 2012... well, remember all those things that you said happen every 11 years? Well, 2012 - 11 = 2001, which was the projected date for the end of the world, after the world didn't end in 2000 as it was projected.
Out of curiosity, does anyone know the next doomsday date after December 21, 2012? I'd find it hard to believe we don't have the next one lined up yet.
PS Boleslav, I have to contest your calendar date. What happens if the end of the world hits at 5 AM in Australia? It'd still be about 2 PM on the 20th for those of us way out here in the Americas. If the end of the world happens on the 21st in the Americas, then there's fair chances the rest of the world might already be in the 22nd.
Unless, of course, the end of the world plans to start in the Pacific and take 24 hours to meander itself westwards all the way around the globe. Then I guess being behind pretty much the whole rest of the world in time wouldn't be such a bad thing.
