Its one thing to do it as a part of an overall attack strategy but to do that every day just out of spite with no other motive other than annoy players. Of course most of these are mysterious tiny accounts that appear for that very purpose.
Griefing is older than gaming itself.

You have it in FPS games (standing in the way, obstructing paths using game objects, etc).

Basically a way to compensate for them not having any fun (and a childish one, at that).

It COULD be strategic, but it is along the same line of Japanpimp's method of recruiting people to make ghost cities just so his alliance can't be drafted.. -_-
