It depends on the thing your attacking. Most of the time Leadership is not a factor especially in Historical Heroes. I attacked a valley with 2 different heroes. Each had the same Intelligence. One had 150 leadership at the time, and the other had 50. I sent 50k Archers. Each lost the exact same amount.
