I read the books, because I was much younger when they came out, and the "Bookclub" I was currently in was reading them. Surprisingly I enjoyed the storyline of the first book. The other 3... well lets just say that Breaking Dawn should have been Breaking Headboards.

The movies, those I saw because I was foolishly in love. I was perfectly content to have just read the books, and finished the story, such as it was and to just let the dang thing DIE. (Oh wait, their undead it WON'T HAPPEN).
