Just imagine, the first player to figure out, that you could farm npc.
The first player to figure out the ballistae mechanic, so we wouldn't lose during farming. Even the guy who said " hey we can make npc's".

Now in Age2, we got peeps figuring out how to amount and keep Hugh armies. Is that not good strategy, Foxy?

PS - Hugh armies, does not a great player make. I have seen a 3 million Archer army get taken out, by good planning, and new innovations.

Simply put, you can't stop a hardcore gamer, from finding a way. Now, I will say this. Age2 is known to be a softcore alternative to the real Evony, so I understand the Need to tweek, in order to keep a level playing field. I don't accept or understand, the need to do this in Age1. Age1 is where the big boys play. Keep it hardcore.
    Very well said.

Like i said before and time again, hardcore players often knows the game more than the devs. Strange as it sounds, these hardcore eliterz really do their homework.

I have seen a hardcore player attacked, demolished defenders, capped a very well fortified city with just scouts, cavs, phracts and warriors no archers for fun, in a short time. His knowledge of the game mechanic is amazing. He test run a few waves, looked at the defending heros attributes (via status/hero) and lose and win ratio and he would knows if the players used buffs or not and send the right amount of troops. The way he sends his wave work soo well that each wave does what it supposed to. He even used my super bomb methods so well better than i could.

So it's a better idea to maintain an unbalanced playing field? Since when?
But....the eternal ray of sunshine REALLY wanted to see you, so I helped brighten your day by removing the city from around you! ^.^

    Very true.
    Time advantage
    Cash advantage.
First comer, first selection advantage as in best location.

title/rank advantage as in numbers of cities.

You just cant compete with your 4 cities against players with 10 cities gears to mass produce troops. As a result, multi account is used to counter such difference, and often players used alternate account to help garrison their main or resupply.

Since I cant reply to the org post either (why ask opinions if no one can post I dont understand?) but heres my take. I keep a moderate army, not enough to brutally take a very active player out but its enough that if someone attacks me they will have to lose alot of troops to take me down. If I was online all day 24/7 I could defend against any atack with 200-300k arch and 1 of everything else with no problems. Since I cant be online 24/7 Im forced to keep way more troops then I would need otherwise.

Just the threat of scout bombs alone makes me have to keep hundereds of thousands of swords alone in each city. If they corrected the blaring exploit that allows someone with tons of scouts to remove a perfectly good def by just spamming wave after wave while upping your honor and lowering theirs so they get better heal rates and you lose troops on crap attacks. Its just plain stupid, there is no skill in scout bombs and yet almost every "skilled" player uses them. Scouts bake faster then swords and archers and costless to bake and keep, so even nerfing npcs someway does nothing to hinder them.

I dont like seeing 0 loy and 100 grievance when I wake up or come home from work and if I cant reasonably feed a moderate army to atleast stand a chance while im offline Ill just quit, plain and simple. I wont spend more time or money, ill find a more balanced game to play.

You want people to not need to keep massive armies change some of the stupid mechanics of the game so we dont need to. Trust me I keep only as many troops as I need too, no more no less. Scout bombs are one thing, make them unable to attack or nerf their attack so bad that 100k scouts can only kill like 100 archers would be a good start. Make honor somehting you should want, not something you avoid and try to purge at all costs, i mean comeon, in real life having lots of honor is a good thing, it means you are brave and a good person. But yet here its a bullseye that means you get 10-13% heal at worst.

I like the historical city idea, that would be fun to cap, but there's no way I'm playing age 2. With this game, if you put the tim a and effort into it then you won't have problem, if you don't then yes it's an unlevel playing field, but so is everything else, I can't sot down with a master chess player and them simply because I don't have the experience. It boils down to this, there will always be someone better, and figuring out how to beat them is the biggest tactical challenge of them all.

    Default end of game then?

So I have spent a year building npc's to feed my troops and secure my area, building the troops and cities to defend my state, and now you are just completely annilihating all my work by randomly deleting npc's?

There are already stragegies and tactics involved in this game, developed by the players themselves.

There ARE ways to beat whatever defence is presented, archers are vulnerable to scout bombs, so people keep compact defences to counter this, forcing lots of arch rainbows to be used. Others use a full, layered defence against which arch rainbows are less effective. These are just two of the more simple examples.

Many of us have spent a long time building our armies, defences and tactics based on how the game was.

By this simple change of wiping npc's you have destroyed all that work.

I am simply spending my time rebuilding npc's you wipe. This is getting very boring, very fast and I know a lot of others who feel the same.

You are going to lose a LOT of age1 players if these npc wipes continue.

The simple answer is for people to make 100's of newbs accts instead of npcs. And if you look around ss25 you will see the evidence of this response in a massive way.

You are simplky going to kill of the BIG players who play for the longest and spend the most money with this change and leave yourselves the small players who would only play for a month or so anyway.

edit: this amounts to a massive snub to those of us who have spent huge amounts of time and effort to create our fields, and basically amounts to you saying, we never intended our game to be like this so we are creating a completely new game... well I, and many others will most likely decide we don't like your new game as we played under the old game for ages because WE LIKED IT!!!!!!

edit2: here is the obvious response to unstable npc fields, which have become core to age1 at this point.....make a newb acct, lvl it to knight title, capture a lvl 10 on it and abandon original city (this can be done easily by taking it with a big acct and passing the city) research agriculture and stockpile, it will produce 28 mill food daily, with even a newby poli mayor and is a zero loss hit, they won't wipe like npc's as you keep logging them in to fix loy after each hit anyway. Only loss is hero xp........have fun all.
