that very name..."The Prisoner" any way the prisoner #86 became #2
and then became through indirect directives #1, any way the Prisoner
was given access, when he became #2, to the MainFrame, back in the day a MainFrame was
a punch card devise that took up half of Manhatten Is. any way He was given the oppurtunity to ask the MainFrame one query and one query only. The Handler, (the then #1 at the time) thought that if the Prisoner
could get answered any question he had doubts about, the Handler (#1)
would then actually succeed at turning the Prisoner over to "The Society's way of thinking.

So, the Prisoner asked...... {moderate to excruciating suspence moment}
The Prisoner asked, or typed in and fed the punch card into the MainFrame, anyway
The Prisoner asked, "Why"
He just went and typed three little letters W H Y

Well all hell broke loose then. The computer could not handle the input.
It simply blew its vacuum tubes. It needed to ask "Why, what?" but couldnt cause it was pure Logic and therefore "thought" or "had processed" it knew all the
answers, so had no ability to ask any questions.

Needless to say the then #1 lost his job and his life and the Prisoner
was promoted from #2 to #1.

Any way, i still find the question facinating to a degree, because with out
the connective 'why, what?' there is no logical answer. boooff
