The information I provided is not BLATANTLY wrong.
You are trying to talk about Ballistas and farming in your previous post and saying that 18 farms is not needed. This is an overview for new players. They have no concept of farming. Farming and ballistas are for AFTER you get your cities built up and need to level up heros and farm for food. Far too advanced for new players. Baby steps my friend, baby steps. Not information overload. New players need simple, plain, vanilla cities that that give them almost everything they need without the need to farm. They can reference other guides for more advance game play like making iron/wood cities, leveling up heros, farming, medal hunting, etc....
Again, what I explained is just fine.

    JP kudos for this.

might even send noobs into here too.
just bare in mind that one farm generall wont hold up long.
with lv4 town hall i keep 5 farms, 3 quarries, 5 iron mines, the rest is lumber.

reason, because i can get a good 6 hours sleep, go out for 2-3 hours for a ride, spend time at a cafe for coffee and a smoke (yes im a smoker)

then when i come back, i can push the limits again, generally it gets more done, faster, with out being up on evony for more than 5 hours if im lucky

No offense, but having learned the game without the help of any guides and evaluating what I did right and wrong when I found the forum guides and tweaked things, I have to say that I feel sorry for anyone who follows this guide.

It was much more efficient for me to focus on one or two resources when I was a noob. I focused on lumber. Had two cities that did nothing but lumber. I should have done 1 lumber an 1 iron. Point being- I bought all the food I needed from the market with profits I made selling my spare lumber. I quickly had 1 billion gold. Then 2 billion.

Of course, one reason that I grew my gold reserve so fast was that I didn't have to buy food off the market ever again after I made my first NPC farming hit on a level 5 with ballista and transports. I got all the food I needed for myself simply by farming for exp. Yeah, I didn't care about the food at all- just wanted to level my heroes and the food was a bonus.

But yeah, I would advise knowing more about the game before you make a guide japanpimp. I never played Age I. I started with Age II and learned on my own in the beginning. I am glad I didn't have this guide to work with when I was new because I see a lot of holes in it. Resources are the most important thing to set up when you are new as they allow you to grow faster when you set yourself up right. I think you have failed with the concept of resource priority and management.

No offense intended- I'm just giving feedback.

No offense taken my friend. But I have just as much experience as you then. I have been playing Age II since it first went live in April. I only played Age I for 1 month in March. And I have been online almost everyday since April for at least 3 hours on average. I also worked myself up to a top 200 player and top heros on the server all while being colonized. So I think I know a thing or two.
As for your point, it is taken. But you are one of the rare few. I have been running my alliance since April too. And if you have ever run an alliance for months on end you know that most of the new players have no idea about the market, farming or any of the other tactics you used to help you grow fast. You obviously had someone explain things to you along the way. My overview if for players completely new to the game. When you logged in to Evony for the very first time did you know that you get 3 extra resource fields each time you upgrade town hall? New players don't even know simple stuff like that. So how are they supposed to know about creating lumber cities when they barely know what a resource field is?

So my experience is coming from two places:
    1. Having to go through it myself as a complete noob to the game in March.
    2. Running my alliance since April and dealing with countless new players.

My experience comes from being the Vice Host of two alliances on Na14- the current one being the top alliance on the server, being the #8 ranked player in prestige (without turning in medals for prestige- as prestige is pretty much useless) and #4 by title, owning 2 of the top 10 historic heroes on the server, and well- I don't need to go on because this isn't a contest.

When I was new- I saw lumber was the most expensive item on the market- and there was a quest to build a market btw- so noobs know about markets. So I made as many sawmills as possible- I didn't need to be told. I actually filed a bug report because I had filled up all the resource plots for my level 4 town hall and couldn't build any more sawmills and didn't know I needed to upgrade the town hall.

I quickly realized that resources were going to be important in the game, and that without a good build I would slow myself down.

Now- I understand that you like playing from a colonized position, but I consider that a weak position and a defeatist position. Most prestige farmers are colonies. If you are active- it isn't hard to make it to the top 200 at all. In fact, I once scouted the #6 ranked person in prestige on Na14 at the time and saw that he had almost no troops there. Prestige is pretty worthless unless you use it as a deterrent.

My point is that 99% of people don't want to be colonies. If you like it, fine. But most people view colonization as a defeat. Your credentials don't impress me that much and I honestly think you need to learn the game more fully before giving advice.

I own a historic city and helped in the capture of 4 other ones. How many do you own? How many colonies have you captured? Have you completed your queen quest yet? I think you need to play the other side of the game to understand some of the more advanced concepts.

I know plenty about the game, enough to give advice as I have been playing it longer than you. Na14 came out far after Na4.
I have done all of the quests, colonized my 400 cities for my 10% drop increase, Priz title, got my queen and 2 historic heros. And not wasting my troops on L12's or other historics. Just building up for Atlantis. And all my politic, attack and intel heros are well above 400... all of that while being colonized. Need to get them all well over 500 so with excaliber and so on they can have around 700 attack for Atlantis.

You are right that many players do not WANT to be colonized. But sometimes they want to quit the game when they are. Why? Because they do not understand that they can still play the game and become strong even though they are colonized.

I want to help those players understand that they too can grow up nice and strong even though they are colonized and that being colonized is hardly a reason to feel discouraged.

Now, if you can write up a better overview to help these new players get their heads around the game, by all means, please help. We can use players like you to help the new ones. See, I want to help new players UNDERSTAND Age II. Not write up technical guides.

good luck with atlantis, from what i hear you need some 16s, but with the new policy mods, 16s are no longer viable targets

I probably could write a decent guide as I have for my alliance, but I do not have enough reputation on these forums for me to feel it is my place.

I still wouldn't recommend this guide, and that is simply my humble opinion on the matter. There are many things like keeping gates closed, the 18 farms, etc that I feel severely slow the growth of a new person. I also don't like advising people to just sit down and let themselves get colonized. And not training troops until you have level 9 barracks?

You also have a huge fascination with warriors, which are the weakest unit in the game and are useless except to kill off for experience and prestige (which is useless). I suppose this thread helps me understand why you've posted other things in other places about warriors and such that exhibit that you have little understanding of how worthless warriors are :/

If you want me to offer you advice on a guide in private, I can do that. But until I have more of a reputation on these forums, I do not feel it is my place to make any guides for the mass public.

Yeah, I honestly have no idea how I am going to go about Atlantis.
I don't know anyone who has capped it yet. So it is new territory for all of us. I certainly hope 16's are not needed because I do not plan to cap any other historicals. But how would anyone know that 16's are needed unless they capped 0,0 before? Just askin. Not attacking you. Just pointing out that nobody can really say because nobody is an Atlantis expert at this point.
