congratulations to all in this thread so far.
JapanPimp has shown open mindedness for this one.

perhaps what could be done is all of those who have experience at training noobs combine exp and advise into one thread made by some one who is very well versed in the construction of a guide?

then that way, its a allmost infallible thread that a new player can easily decipher and use.

it would speed up the game a little and even with current said issues, it wouldnt affect new players until they decide to go for a 12.

Ok, edited first post and added suggestions.
I want this overview to be light and not too much info. But enough to help a completely new player grasp enough so they can plot their course and feel comfortable. As well help the new player not feel discouraged or threatened if they get attacked and want to quit the game.

i have never owned more then one farm per city. if you have a market place you can sell lumber for twice the price of food.

also playing from a colonized position is a matter of opinion ,and you should mention that in your guide that you can defend yourself and not get colonized

Spawn, this is for absolute beginners.
you guys can't understand it because to you it makes no sense. Why? Because you have already went to "school" and 2+2 is way too easy for you. You are in advanced calculus. But absolute beginners don't even know what 2+2 is.

So to a complete beginner it really helps.

I already said that in the guide, you must have not seen it.
"At this point you will be in a position to properly defend your cities from players who want to colonize you. To learn how to properly defend your cities please ask the forums or your in-game alliance."


I am not telling new players to play from a colonized position. I am telling them not to worry and get discouraged if they are colonized. And if they are colonized to just keep building up so they can free themselves in the future.
