So, you propose that someone completely relocate, potentially multiple cities, disturbing their valleys, running the risk of moving into even more hostile territory, running the risk of moving into someone else's NPC field and having arguments over the NPC field, because people are so petty as to have weeks or months of inbound attacks that aren't part of any plan to cover up for other attacks that they plan to make, but only to annoy the target and to (hopefully) prevent them from using a feature which almost always requires a monetary contribution (holiday mode)?
It's been said over, and over, and over, and over, ad infinitum, that being able to engage Holiday should behave identically to Truce in regards to inbound attacks. It's really quite simple:
1) Freeze resource production.
2) Freeze troop upkeep.
3) Check for inbound attacks.
4) If there are inbound attacks, attacks are allowed to continue, but no more can be started.
5) Player is activated into Holiday.
6) Inbound attacks in item #4 land and plunder if successful, otherwise they are defeated, exactly like they would be if it was Truce being used instead of Holiday.
This would mean that holiday cannot be used to "escape" a large attack, as the large attack would still be allowed to land. However, most people who have experienced this type of "strategy" know that "large" attacks are usually not what's inbound, unless you consider 1 transporter and 1 ballista to be a "large" attack.![]()
