Define Love...

Okay, so I have been hanging out in these Forums lately,
gave a huge thot and perhaps I should ask a divine question maself..
Not sure however if this was already brought up,
tho It wuld be fun to watch others may have to say about this..
I really appreciate it if posters stay on topic and not troll/flame,
cause i wanna watch dis topic grow in many opinions shared by ALL..

Here goes da question,

Love is that feeling you get when you see a person, and you want to know that person.
When I mean know the person; you want to know what her greatest joys are, what her fears are, to hear her laugh and comfort her when she cries. You want to be there and enjoy life with her and know that everything is going to be all right.

I'm not sure love has been devalue'd perse, I think its just gathered a lot of different meanings over the years. Or different ways of using it for different situations. There are many different kinds of love. But the love I think your talking about as in true love, is something thats unexplainable, its something that you just know is, by the feeling you have. This is usually only found when one person loves another, but I'm sure there are people who get this feeling with their pet or even an object in rare cases. The type of love people refer to when they say "I love this Pizza" or gets used overly, I don't think is true love, but can be considered love, because you have a deeper fondness to it rather than just liking. This goes with loving friends as well, you may not have that mushy feeling in your heart like for your husband as you do for your friend, but its a deeper connection than just liking them. In a way I guess it may appear as the word love has been devalue'd, but I think its just different peoples interpretations of what love is.

I define love with the word "Selflessness." The opposite is selfishness.

the love of a mother is: worrying you wont be good enough or worrying that you will some how go wrong. watching your every word and deed so that you teach with action what you want most to instill in your child

the love of a child is: wanting to do your best to make your parents proud, coveting their praise, their attention, their time.

the love of a friend is: being there when they need you. when the times are good, when the times are bad. having a shoulder to cry on, ears to hear with, a heart to forgive from. knowing when to give advice and when to listen to them give themselves advice.

the love of a stranger is: caring weather or not meeting your needs impairs their ability to meet theirs.

the love of life is: an attitude of gratitude, being thankful not just for the obviously good things in life, like your favorite food being suddenly before you. but being thankful for the hard things in life. being in a fight and being thankful to the guy who knocks you flat. because it teaches you where the weaknesses are in your defenses.
enjoying the small things, like the wind brushing your cheek on a sunny day. or the rain pattering on your window on a stormy night. relish the "free" things in life. the beauty of the season in their turn, the call and answer of the birds, the babbling of a brook.
enjoy the simple things, like a bubble bath in a clean tub, a good book, a quiet moment to your self.

the love of self is: something i'm working on discovering.

i think that love is the power that binds the universe together. scientists dont know what electrons are made of, i think they are love. but thats just me.
