You have to remember it takes time to find where the problem is and how to fix it. The evony dev's put a lot of time into finding these and fixing them, but you have to remember they can't just click there fingers. ^_^

Best thing to do is to try and avoid this situation until it is dealt with, and report the players abusing them.

Most of the times you will not receive a reply from reporting/exploit's but something is usually done about them.

If people are using clone accounts to do this trick then off-course it's a cheat, if they take help from their friends from other alliances then i think it's just a strategy. IP address testing can be a good solution in this regard to find out people who are abusing this trick.

    Post Multiple Accounts

Less people would have multiple accounts if Evony did not keep making new ones at log in.

what I do not get - if the server is as secure as evony says in the adverts then picking up people logging on from the same ip address should be a piece of cake

we have a few on our server who have kept their alliances alive by holding up to 35 accounts each - proven time and time again - this should be easily picked up by a secure server

but it seems to many I have spoken to, that as long as they (the multiple account holders) are spending money evony turns a blind eye

You do realize some people live together and use the same ISP (which means the same IP address) right?

So scanning for multiple accounts using the same IP wouldn't work as you'd end up banning accounts that may be a husband and wife's for example, or 2 friends that play at the same house, and so on...

I thought they were suppose to report it to evony via the forums, in the cases u mentioned.

Its been a while since i reviewed the rules that arent enforced so i could be wrong.

According to the ToS, yes multi-account IPs are supposed to have to give evony notification. Simple solution as adding a new database with IPs of allowed number of accounts per request. Security scan finds log-ins for multiple accounts not in database then temp ban accounts and flagged for further investigating.

Just like you also can't have multi-accounts in the same alliance you should also be unable to colonize them. Maybe some kind of protection in the code that would do a last log in IP check to see if the colonize. reinforce, transport function is going to the same player? Sure it might slow down the attack window's loading time but with the lag as poor as it is, who would notice

In countries like where I live (Panama, central America) whole communities of 100s to 1000s of people can be on the same number. I know I am and it's impossible to know if others (or how many) out of that community play Evony.

Think villages/towns in the jungle, mountains or other remote areas that have 1 microwave uplink and wifi distribution among the vollage.

    cheers,

That is one massive routing nightmare. If you are all a universal IP to the net then you would all be getting kicked out of other games that actually look to prevent these exploits not to mention programs that check to see if possible pirating has taken place, not to mention super slow speeds if more then one user is using the same port you are.

I'm not going to say I'm a networking guru because I'm not, but to say that you have 1000 people connecting to the internet via one IP from the ISP sounds a bit farfetched to me. How are you being charged for service? Are you isolated from the AP by MAC? Setting up a office building's data infrastructure is different then creating a public access point.

But back to case at hand, worst case, you prove your innocence. A simple tracert command run could show what is happening.

The forums are not for discussing exploits in the system. Thanks.
