It's the fact that you're endorsing such action that gets me peeved.

Ok, so consider the alternatives...
Ask the people of the land what they want to do for birth control. I promise you that the men will make the rule/law and that the law they make will be something like "Mutilate the womens reproductive area with a hot stone or a long sharp stick." And the women may even agree. Why? Because that is how their culture rolls. It is normal for them to listen to the men and do body mutilation. Do you want to endorse something that they would dream up?
You should not be peeved at what I suggested. You are peeved because it goes against OUR culture and upbringing. But if we suggested it to the people of the other land they may love it because it is an alternative to body mutiliation or witch doctor stuff...
I saw on TV that a kid was really sick in the Amazon area. They burned him on the chest with hot sticksover and over to rid the kid of the sickness. And it was totally cool to them. Totally normal. But I was offended. I could not believe they would do that to a kid. Then after 2 seconds of being offended I calmed down and thought "why am I disrturbed? They are not disturbed. So why am I?"
