ok, so your answer was we should praise evony for not communicating with the community...
What you said was one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard, at no point in your rambling, incoherent responce were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought.... everyone that just read that post to acer is now dumber for having read it, your answer was not sufficient..... and may god have mercy on your soul.

I've sat in the development chair before, so I can speak to this. First all say that you're probably right. But once again, this really isn't relevant. The fact is that you can never please everyone. There will always be someone who doesn't like your company's product, doesn't like your company's conduct, or simply doesn't like you for personal reasons that defy explanation. It is a simple fact of life. As a developer, you can't go around trying to please the crowd. The old saying goes, when you try to please everyone, you end pleasing no one. This is why companies produce vision statements. It keeps them focused on the overall goal of the company rather than whatever wind happens to blow through the forums on Tuesday.
The whiners will whine no matter what you do, so you don't undertake communication because of them, but because the communication can have a positive affect on many other players, players whom you may want to keep around in the long run.

In a way, I find all the Evony drama really amusing. However, most gamers will probably not feel the same about this. In the long run, the lack of communication is costing Evony a lot of money.
I'm currently playing another game though where the developers are highly communicative. Every significant server downtime, they come with a detailed explanation, even an apology. Simply everything they do, even when they mess up, they communicate more thoroughly than I would expect, they're sometimes even funny about it! This creates a lot of goodwill. It's a free game, but simply their attitude towards their customers makes me want to spend money.
10 minutes of a developer and a representative from Evony per day, communicating to the community, would make them so much more money. If only they know lol
Silent changes, the first being a major is not cool. It could have been worse, they could have disabled the scouting of HC's.
Now, we will get 16 anyway, all we need is more mech waves, 1-2 from each.
The victory, won't be any sweeter for the harder work with phracts/pults though. Why? Because half the server's 16's have been capped with cav/ram.
I did some searching to find out why. Here is the deal, you can thank some NA9 d-bags for this change. Once they have cruised through cav/ram on all 16's they could, they ran out of 16's they could attack.
So, they used pull with developers to make it harder to get 16's even though they cruised through theirs. I hear their alliance is down to 35 members or less, I don't wonder why.
Bottom line: This change should have been applied only to servers without any player controlled 16's.
Wouldn't it make sense for changes to the 16s to be made only to new servers and not the existing servers. I cannot see how this is welcome by anybody other than the few who have captured a 16s already.
I cannot blv you said this. Oh right you do now own an HC and never will. I hope they bring in refuge with no warning. Make SUZ unable to instant defend their colonies, with no warning. Decide your army is too big and shrink I, with now warning. As well as double food costs and bring back refuge on same day, with out warning. Cause it makes it interesting.
Or decide that the word "pimp" is offensive since they are usually abusive to their "staff". And delete you name with no warning. Cause it keeps things interesting.
+1 REP for that. And I agree with him, he makes an excellent point. I've been on far too many online games where communication between the DEV team and the Players is terrible. And guess what, I don't play them anymore. The DEV team makes changes to the game without telling us, and half the time its usually something that affects balance of the game, when many people considered the balance to be fine, including myself (and before you say "Oh, well he was ranked in the top 10 in every game he played, of course he would say the balance is fine", no I wasn't, just a casual player in all of them).
Its important to let players know that there is going to be change, even if its just a vague statement about what area of the game they have changed such as...
Evony, please let us know what you are doing with your game, I realize it is your game and you are free to do with it as you please, but it affects us as well as we do play it, and sometimes pay for it.
And as a footnote, before I spend any more money on this game I want to know that you have a stable system. NA23 has been on the fritz since Sept 4, first with the quest/achievement reset/bug/glitch, then with the extreme lag, and now we have an on and off bug that won't let buildings that have finished their build/upgrade time to actually complete the build/upgrade...
