To make the question clearer, I think it would be beneficial to explain more.
I have been playing Evony since late September of last year, and in that entire time I have only lost one city. I remember it surprisingly well for some reason.
It was New Year?s Eve, 5 minutes to midnight. I was at a party and got a call saying my alliance had been betrayed by another alliance and everyone including myself was being attacked.
I didn't care as it was just a game that I had no real attachment to at the time. But when I got online finally I found I had lost a city and that no-one in my alliance had even tried to help me or even each other.
It is through this loss that I became motivated to actually play the game and become good at it, rather than casually doing nothing much and being one of the people that complains about there being low medal drop rates (my first post on the forum I am sad to say). And had this not happened, I would not be the same player I am now and would probably have quit already.
That would put my last and only big loss while in defence at 8 months ago. That is 8 months I have had to fight and win against everyone I meet. Over this time I believe I have grown egotistical and smug about my success. So much so that I am bound to make a mistake sooner or later that will be very painful. And I see few ways to avoid this without losing a city while trying not to.
So what I want to know is this: In Evony, is the occasional loss just as important as regularly winning?
