Reading info on the forums and putting that info to use can to be two different things. Hand-ons experience will take you a lot futher than reading all the war reports posted.
What constitutes "loosing the battle"? Some might say is it not possible due to the fact that you can never be completely removed from the game by another player. Or is loosing a city the definition of loosing the battle? These terms have different meanings to different people so I think a more general term of "a loss" is better to assume. What is it considered when your attacking someone that gets massive reinforcement and you decide to call off the attack for another day? Is that a loss? If you never take a loss do you ever really know what to do or not to do? I dont think so. I think if you never take a loss you only know what other people tell you, which means you don't really know anything, you just assume the person who told you that was right.
