I have heard of that pop up. But, only a few people are getting it. I have not seen it myself. If it was a legit offer, I would think everyone would get it. The fact that very few people are getting it, makes me think it's a scam malware from some site visited by a few Evony players. (maybe that coord site)
It COULD be an offer that only pops up for their best customers. Like people who have spent $X or more. But, I would think there would have been an announcement on the forums or an in-game mail, if that was the case.
Until Evony says something official, my advice is to... NOT TRUST IT!!!
edit: Evony has said something official...
It's real!![]()

Just to add some clarity, this is not a popup. Its impossible for any sort of malware to create boxes within a flash client. If it was a new window opening, then you should be concerned. We're never going to announce our advertising campaigns. That's just silly, and no one does it.

could you possibly clarify further... is this a legit evony marketing strategy? or should we be ignoring it

Ok, I feel somewhat better now. I already spend plenty on the game. This may become annoying.

You are correct that companies generally do not pre-announce advertising campaigns, however when the ad campaign begins, it is announced.
I've worked in the retail sector in several different capacities. When a print advertisment goes into the newspaper, it is available to everyone who receives the newspaper. In three separate companies that I've been involved with, 2 of which were competitors, the ads were also placed on boards at the front of the stores.
Further, when I was actually working the sales floor, if I was working on Sunday, the day the ads ran in the paper, I was also tasked with the responsibility of making sure that all shelf signage reflected the correct pricing. This would include taking down signage from the prior week's advertisment, putting up signage for the current week's advertisement, and also spot-checking my entire department for correct pricing. I generally got in early enough to go through most of the department, which was more than "spot-checking". This was done to make sure that all customers were receiving the same pricing structure.
Since some, but not all, customers are receiving these discount opportunities, it causes many questions. These questions could've been avoided by issuing a game-wide system mail this morning and/or by making sure that everyone received an opportunity for participating in the ad campaign.
I got that add today so I myself was wondering if it was real or not still dont know if it is or not.
