ok so i was thinking of making cookies this weekend but i lost my copy of the recipie i use so i went over to my moms to see her copy

i should explain something about these cookies before i finish my story. see my grandma made the best cookies ever, she had a recipe that she had tweaked a little and when we moved out of town my mom got it so she could make us grandmas cookies. but over time she tweaked it and then when i grew up and started bakeing i toyed with both versions and did some tweaking of my own so these are some seriously awesome cookies and i was mega bummed to loose my notes on the recipe card i usualy use. but i remembered most of them once i saw mom and grandmas recipes again

back to my story, so i went over to my moms and after reading over the two difrent versions and rememering my own i was ridding my razor scooter home in the dark and hoping no one would hit me and i got to thinking about a difrent tweak to my cookie recipe that had been bouncing around in my head for a while

bacon cookies

well my grandmas recipe calls for shortening, and my moms for butter, and i like margarine. and i was thinking about how different baking fats make the cookies taste slightly different, even when you switch brands of the same kind of fat. and i was thinking "what if you could get a hold of bacon fat for the cookies??" and i almost stopped dead in my tracks with the wild implications of that idea

what do you think???
