Yeah, there isn't anything wrong with the process. At a minimum, it is the most effective method for maintaining consistent star levels and a high attack rating over the longest amount of game-play. And in that aspect alone, JP is not the only one who has proposed nor was he necessarily the first. The only problem I have with the claim that it is cheaper than the alternatives. Now, it may be the case that the random number generator is quirky, and in particular prone to streaks; and it may be the case that he's discovered a way to exploit it. In that case, he may be on to something. Of course, he may not. One person's set of data isn't really proof of anything. Given the percentages presented in-game, the average amount of stars, as well as the standard-deviation can be determined mathematically.
His data is presented a bit selectively. I saw one gear flash up twice in a row with an advance to 11 prior to the 7 in a row.
Well, I actually think JP is on to something because I have noticed the same with the wheel of
I tend to save ammys until I see a lot of jackpots falling in world chat. Spins at those times give better results I found... incl. cents prices.
It must be a random generator thing... these have always been a challenge to program.

Hey X-cal, I think the star upgrade algotythm is just quirky like you said. Thus streaks from 1-13 are nearly impossible. I have put lots of money into gems and trying to upgrade stars and have found that time seems to be a factor. I also learned through experience that leveling up all stars with the process I described seemed to give me the best results.
It seems that when I try to push for or rush a star it fails more.
Also, I did not upgrade any gears to 11 prior to the 7 in a row.
Earlier in the day I upgraded one set from 11-12. Then immediately after one set from 12-13. At that point all of my stars on every gear were L12 and one was L13. Then I stopped. Waited for a few hours. At that point I came back and did a manual upgrade on ALL L12 stars to L13 just like I explained in my process. 7 in a row is not accurate for me to say. But I only used 4 gems per gear and about half of my gears went to 13 stars. And it all happened in under 1 minute and I only burned ~40 gems.
The system is quirky like you said.
Thanks to Boleslav for the Afro Samurai Signature series.
I have made a few video guides that may help you.

Actually, there's a view post button that you can easily press, but you're obviously way too arrogant and ignorant to do so. Also, thanks for shoving the "You're on my ignore list so I don't have to look at your valid argument" card in our faces, yet again.
EDIT:
Oh btw, can somebody who ISN'T on japan's ignore list repost that image?

I have to admit, I'd like to see the size of his ignore list
