And in that aspect alone, JP is not the only one who has proposed nor was he necessarily the first. The only problem I have with the claim that it is cheaper than the alternatives. Now, it may be the case that the random number generator is quirky, and in particular prone to streaks; and it may be the case that he's discovered a way to exploit it. In that case, he may be on to something. Of course, he may not. One person's set of data isn't really proof of anything. Given the percentages presented in-game, the average amount of stars, as well as the standard-deviation can be determined mathematically.
His data is presented a bit selectively. I saw one gear flash up twice in a row with an advance to 11 prior to the 7 in a row.
