    that want what he was saying. i belive what he was asking was if the wording on the free speed up says "under 5 min" then if your construction takes less then 5 min you should have the opt to speed it up for free. i happen to agree, i cant see the waste of a 15 min speed up scroll on 2 min of construction. if therefor the game does not recognise it will take me 30second to build something after i have invested time or money and time (buying coins to buy scripts to advantage myself) then i might be frustrated at the need to contine to baby sit my construction. i belive That the the crux of DrTarrs question. how hard is it for the game to recognize that under 5 min is under 5 min

    This. It doesn't say "If without your Construction you could do this under 5 minutes, you can speed up for free".

    If players invested their resources in Construction, the argument is that building more advanced structures under the free speed up should come along with that, because they focused their strategy on building things.

    hehehe, yep. However if they mentioned that I could understand that, I had to figure that out the hard way and really frustrated me. OH well, this thread was to get other peoples thoughts, and so far I seem to have started a riot. I'm not dissing the game, but having been here since the beta and being a massive game player I do have some thoughts and ideas for improvement. I wish people wouldn't get so offended when someone brings some ideas to the table. I'm not knocking the game, I love it!

    drtarr, I completely agree with you.

    A more advanced player should get the free speed up for structures they can build under 5 minutes. It's very annoying to have to deal with all these 3 minute 14 second build ups on a new city. It should be a perk that goes along with concentrating on building. 100% agreed.

    That's not either of the issues under discussion.

    They are:

    1: The description isn't quite accurate. If it said "Construction time (not counting Construction tech) under 5 minutes is free to speed up", it would be. Perhaps this will be implemented in the interests of clarity.

    2: Players who invested their resources in Construction tech should be able to build any building with a modified build time under 5 minutes for free as well.

    The first point is agreed upon. The second is still under debate (but if implemented would render the first point moot and unnecessary). For my money, I'd agree, because implementing that just isn't that unbalancing. It adds 1 level to the ones that can be sped up, since the time for each succeeding level is doubled, and construction time can at best be halved (at Construction 10).

    (to wit: if, say, L3 of a building becomes eligible to be sped up due to this suggestion, then L4 will still guaranteed be too long to be sped up. If L2 takes 4:59 to build, doubling that for L3 makes it 9:58, halving that for the tech drops that again to 4:59, so L4 would then be, again, 9:58 and thus too long to be sped up. Put in simpler terms, if your construction tech is maxed out, your buildings are considered 1 level lower for purposes of build times, because each level of tech drops times by 10%, so level 10 will halve build times. If each tech level halved build times, I'd say then the free speed up working as suggested would be unbalancing, but that's not the way it works.)
