Honor is a balancing mechanism that helps keep the stronger players from being too strong. Basically it provides a handicap, like golf. I am not saying it is the best handicap system. But a handicap mechinism is needed in this game.
If a 20 year old wants to play baseball against a 8 year old, then the 8 year old deserves a handicap, like a 10 point lead into the game and 2 points for every 1 point the 20 year old makes.
If honor could not be manipulated by "dumping" it then it would be just fine.

I actually... Agree with japan pimp *throws up*

No actually he is right, honor is like a balance scale, keeps it somewhat even. Reverse role of honor then it gets screwed up.

Except the example , I didn't get that example you gave at all.

the problem is that it's not a punishment for being strong, it's a punishment for not losing and/or for having stupid enemies. You can defend a city with only 100k archers and tiny layers against massive assaults, and really pile on the honour, but what if you want to strike back at the fools? you should be penalised because your enemy keeps his gates closed and you wipe his ATs without loss? your precious troops will heal 10-15%, their's 50-70%.
As for honour dumping, what a stupid solution that is, to reduce your losses you have to throw troops away - to save more you have to kill more. ludicrous.

Wait a second, if the 8 year old starts with 10 points and gets 2 points for every 1 point the 20 year old makes, how would the 20 year old win? The 20 year old scores and gets 1 point and the 8 year old gets 2 points for letting the 20 year old score...

This gives an unbeatable advantage unless I misunderstood you.

A heal rate above 65% is impossible
    I agree with gringo though
The game needs a balancing system but one such as honor is ridiculous.

Haha!! Yeah, it does. Then tweak the illustration so it does not give a unbeatable advantage. I am just trying to make a point. Please look past my illustration errors.

I think its 65% for age1 but i think age2 you can get upto 70% heal rate with the buffs. Someone correct me if i wrong.
    Also agree with gringo.
Also agree with the peeps that say game needs to be balanced but the system we use now seems kinda flawed and very unfair in some cases.
We look forward to implementing more player suggestions in the future, because in Evony, you rule!

Well, I got back 700 from medical camp for each 1k I sent. So yeah, 70% heal rate.

Which is harder for moderate players to do, or just takes em longer. Or they just go for targets less worthwhile to have low losses. I think the honor + heal rate discourages PvP combat somewhat since alotta peeps dont like to take losses.

Anyone out there that actually gets discouraged from attacking peeps cus they know they will have a low heal rate?
I agree, i guess by the responses i didn't make my position clear i will edit this post in a bit with more clarity.

    Edit:

Most people here are kind of in agreement. Honor is suppose to be there so super strong players don't heal as much thus leveling the playing field (i don't agree with this 100% , but i will go with it).

To make this really happen a few things need to happen

    1) honor only increases, this way ur good kills over time will cost you honor (as in getting more), also u cant dump honor

    2) you only get honor for offense, as it is now an alliance can dump 10mil+ honor on u in a matter of minutes, ruining your heal rate.

I don't think you should get punished for good defense, espially when you have no choice in the matter

    3) the heals rates need to be closer, like min 20% max 40% (plus pen). As it stands now there is too big of advantage to gettting 65% heal rates
