In the case of this particular game, you're absolutely correct. It's called "Social Engineering" / "Confidence Trick". The "hacker" convinces the victim that they have a legitimate reason to need to victims login information. It might not start out as an intent to reset the account. The initial offer to help watch the person's account while the victim is offline may start out as genuine, but the "hacker" may have been made mad, and thus turn on the victim out of spite / anger.

At any rate, it's very unlikely that there are any actual hacking scenarios, because they'd affect far more people than just one here and one there... The only one out of the group I just listed I'd give any real significant risk of happening is the WiFi sniffing. Even still, someone would likely find much more interesting data on an unencrypted wireless network than an Evony account and password...
